RIP Beverly Sills

Can't say I'm much for Opera but I certainly remember Sills as a pop icon of the 70s. She wasn't the stereotypical stuffy opera star. Would crack a joke on occasion... I remember her from the Burnett show... The Lady could sure sing....

boy and a personality to match! she was such an affable and likable figure in the arts administration world, and it really is sad.

(Beverly Sills was inducted into Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity as an Honorary Member by Lambda chapter in 1966.)
