Anyone Here Own A Kart? Advice Please!

Fri Jul 13, 2007 9:53 pm

Hey guys and girls...

I'm really interested in buying a petrol race kart i.e.

Well I'm sure some people here own them and i would be greatful if you could give me some advice...

1) What would be the best kart to get?
2) How much is a decent one? I would like a shifter but i expect the cost many £000's!
3) How much do they cost to run, say if you done about 5 miles a week?
4) How much does all the gear cost e.g helmets, neckbrace and firesuit cost?

My budget, well I don't have a big one but around £500-£700 and i would like it to go about 50-60mph. I can settle for around 45mph if i must though  silly . Will i be able to get a decent new/used one for that amount?

Haha but nah i used to go to a karting school thing a few years back but dropped it in favour of flying lessons. I recently went go-karting again and have caught the bug again and I think the only way to cure this bug is well to get a kart  silly  I would prefer to own the kart as i could take it to race meets and could gradually tune it etc.
