As long as he is against my number one belief, which is enhancement of stem cell research, I refuse to vote for him. He doesn't have a chance anyways, he's too conservative...GWB created fear in voting for a far right wing person, I don't see one getting elected for the next 4 elections at least. Just a belief, I could be wrong, often am.

I love the way they nearly always show a picture of Tommy Thompson when doing a story on Frowning Freddy. He really needs to learn to smile.

When he tries to smile, he seems to mimic that smart-ass, shyster sneer of Dick Cheney.

Not even close - since when have we seen Fred sneer like Cheney? Are you trying to subtely call that a sneer? Cheney has a face made for Halloween - Fred only has the grandpa look about him.

Yeah if I saw people donating money to a campaign and then nothing happened, I'd avoid it too. Nothing says "waste of money" like giving money to a presidential candidate who isn't, well, a presidential candidate.

You nailed it.........why bring back what has hurt the U.S. before 9/11 and after. Bill was the commander in chief, but did nothing to stop what was going to be the 9/11 attacks. Both Bill and Hillary are just caught up in themselves and personal issues. Obama, well just plain inexperience and lack of knowledge to be a president.

Actually most uniforms where made by usually the wife of the soldier, and more oftern then not the rebs fought their farming cloths. A lot of officers in the Continental Army came over from the British and kept their uniforms. They where expensive back then.

The notion that ther was a feild with a bunch of guys in red and a bunch of guys in Blue and Gold is pretty much false.

Nice record.

Quoting Socal (Reply 30):
Clinton had 8 yrs to STOP the threat and did nothing.

Mr. Bush has had almost 8 years, and the threat isn't decreasing, it's increasing. Oh, I forgot, he did "something".  Yeah sure

Note: neither Mr. Clinton nor Mr. Bush, cannot end the "threat" of terrorism. It's always going to be there in one form or another. To say Clinton is at fault is ridiculous. To say Mr. Bush is at fault is ridiculous. It's an AMERCAN failure, going back almost 30 years, if not more, in policy, and in things beyond our control.

Your answer is nuts. Neither president was responsible; neither president can end the threat. Period.

Quoting Socal (Reply 30):
Clinton was CONVOLUTED

Uh huh. And you're not a "party" guy, eh? We had a deeper and longer-running economic upturn than the one we've allegedly had for the last 4 years or so; we were more respected abroad than we are now; we didn't have a government bathed in absolute secrecy or paranoia.

I'll take the Clinton years over the Bush years, any day, my friend.

Quoting Socal (Reply 30):
Oh, from Michael Moore..right.....what you have read...

I've never watched anything Mr. Moore has put out, sorry to tell you, my friend. Maybe some day I will, but up till now, I haven't really been interested in watching anything from him.

And yes, I get my information from lots of sources: newspaper, TV, magazines like Time, etc, when I have time to read. I have the ability to make up my own mind, and not sound like I'm reading out of a politcal party Bible, as it were, unlike you.

Quoting Socal (Reply 30):
Oh yea, and Saddam decided to invade Kuwait in the 90's, thats way he is dead now.

Actually he's dead because he was tried and convicted by a court of law in his own nation. The charges had nothing to do with the '91 war, which I fully supported. I also supported, and still support, Mr. Bush's decision to go to war in Afghanistan. Had a Democract done that, from the sound of you, you would be screaming bloody murder about the state of that war, I'm sure.

I HATE Fred Thompson with a passion. His candidacy is the result of a bunch of bored conservatives trying to throw anything together that resembles Ronald Reagan, and a bunch of followers who refuse to pull their head out of their ass long enough to realize that the majority of our Republican lawmakers have the exact same background/views as Thompson. If you want the real Reagan, go with Romney.

Really; did you see Richard Cohen's column in the Washington Post National Review this week apparently the good senator was a lobbyist for the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association; a family planning outfit, then lied about it. What happen to truthfulness, candor, and honesty, I could care less that he worked as a lobbyist for them, one got to make a living, but lets tell the truth.

It is better than running away from a fight, like clinton did when the Rangers where killed in Somalia in 1993. They asked for support in the form of operational aspect and they were denied by the clinton administration. Oh and what happened after that, clinton ordered everyone out. Yea that was a slap in the face to those who died. Not to mention how he decreased the military during his administration.

Quoting Falcon84 (Reply 33):

Well, it is better than pretending everything is going to be alright and not lift a finger, like clinton did.

Your answer is nuts. Neither president was responsible; neither president can end the threat. Period

The only difference is that Bush is doing something about it, which some disagree and dont understand the seriousness of the matter, like ALL the democrats. they go on TV and tell everyone, that the troops need to come home and fail to take in account that there are hard working men and women in the military and their families. They are the ones who we must support, they are the ones that matter at this time. To have your own government betray you in battle, like the democrats have done, well why not just get rid of the Dept. of Defense, since we dont need it.

Were Clinton in office during 9/11, you can bet he would have done something. The only reason it was specifically Bush that did something is because it was Bush that was in office at the time.

You could make the argument that Clinton might not have done the same thing as Bush, but that's speculation and we'll never know. But to fault Clinton for doing nothing about 9/11 is ridiculous.

This is a favorite of the Right. As a moderate, I still will never understand how keeping more soldiers from dying is disrespecting those who already died. 18 American soldiers gave their lives in Somalia...so, tell me how many more it would have been worth to honor those 18...100? 150? 1,000? Clinton had is pro and con aspects, as does every President and every person, but I will never understand how those 18 would be justified by giving up more.

What jobs are being outsourced??? explain???

Called a United Airlines call center in India, Poland or the Philippines lately: or wondered where all the good auto jobs are going to (Mexico)? That's outsourcing, and it was a policy that the Bush gave it's blessing to.

What form of government doesn't have secrets, oh "Paranoid"....no...more like Pro-Active.

.
rotfl  Sure. Mr. Bush hides his Gubinitorial activities from Texas from the public, at Dad's library; Cheney hides energy policy secrets from the public. He hides everything from the public. That's not "Pro-active". That's putting your middle finger up to the American people and saying "fuck you" about everything they do.

Quoting Socal (Reply 38):
What countries were alienated??? France? Germany?

Most of Europe, most of South America, most of Asia. A lot of friends, a lot of allies, because we tried to bully them into supporting a war they felt should not have been fought.

Quoting Socal (Reply 38):
It is better than running away from a fight

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, and know when to run. Bush didn't know when to walk away. His ego, and his want for a place in history, plus his paranoia following 9/11 led us into this epic disaster in Iraq. He drained our resources away from a legit war in Afghanistan for a run to glory in Iraq, and now we can't do either effectively.

You have to know when to fight, and when not to fight. If you're always looking for a fight, I guess you're trying to compensate for a small weenie or something. Had he avoided this fight, the war on terror might look a whole lot different these days.

Quoting Socal (Reply 38):
The only difference is that Bush is doing something about it

Again, doing something doesn't make it right. And the only reason why he was doing anything is that he's the President. Clinton was not the president at the time of 9/11, so it's total conjecture as to what the political/military map would look like today had a Bill Clinton, or an Al Gore, or a John Kerry been president. It's pointless to even bring it up.

What are you talking about. Ronald Reagan was one of this countries greatest presidents.

President Reagan was a very fine president overall. He raised taxes when the situatiion required it. He used the military effectively, and didn't endanger the republic by bogging it down in pointless endeavors. He wasn't enamored with religious superstition. He dealt boldly with the Soviet Union, and out-dueled it.

He wasn't perfect, but he was a very effective president, "Great" is reserved for historians, but I think it is safe to call him great compared to our current one.

You nominate Condi Rice, and the thundering herd you will here are southern white conservative males running away from the vote in '08.

What's that supposed to mean?

Pretty self explanatory. Some of the conservative base will undoubtedly not vote for a woman, black or in this case- both.

So are you stereotyping the conservative base as being racist and sexist KKK rednecks?

Of course I am not. But you are only fooling yourself if you think they don't exist.
