Reuters using fake images?
Please tell me it's not true!

I've always wondered how in the world they could ignore that obvious fake and buy/sell it as real.

Me too! Terrible Photoshop job. So easy to improve on that with the PS airbrush tool, varying the "size" of the brush as well as the opacity and flow rate. Photoshop 101 stuff, not even tournament level.

The very same whose reporters gave candy to a bunch of muslim women who started cheering, and reported that they were celebrating what had happened on 9/11.

Cheers

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

One small problem... That one is true. Palestinians really did celebrate the 9/11 attacks.

Of course, This lie pops up from time to time on the forum... gets corrected.. then repeated again in a month or two. Maybe next time some one will fall for it.

Yes, it's true and Reuters admits the "mistake". And it was a 13y old boy who noticed there was something strange in the film material...  Smile

It wouldn't be the first time. There is a high school in Berlin, which was suposed to be connected to teenage gang activity. Reporters went there and found the kids all peaceful, nobody fighting etc. So they just bribed a few teenage boys to walk around looking "dangerous" and stirring up trouble for the pictures.

This report does not cite Reuters, but one of Putin's new propaganda channels, (after he has shut most free ones down);
http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,2146615,00.html

Though Reuters, like every other news service, used those images but in good faith.

Who is more likely to have been the source? Surely not dissident poisoning, free speech crushing, neighbour threatening, cyber attacking, ex KGB Vlad?

No way he would ever do such a thing...  sarcastic  He's a shining example of democratic spirit!

I hope that boy won't mysteriously disappear in the upcoming Finnish winter. I know it sounds absurd at first, but look at the "mishaps" that regularly happen to people who rain on Putin's parades. Dealing with a 13yo that near to the border wouldn't be a problem.
