From YUL To Montreal Downtown

Tue Aug 14, 2007 12:31 am

Good day a.netters!

I need to find information about how to get from YUL to downtown Montreal ( to the Fairmont Reine Elizabeth exactly). I've been looking at the metro maps but I've seen that it doesn't has a metro stop at the airport. So if someone can help me into knowing:

1. What's the cheapest way to go from the airport to the Fairmont?
2. How much would a taxi cost?
3. Is there a train or something?

I have people going to a convention in that hotel and we've been trying to look for information but we haven't been lucky into knowing prices, ways to get there, etc.. If someone can give me detailed information I would be very thankful!

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Take a cab - it's a flat rate of $34 one way (last time I was there, at least). And believe me, it's an experience you will never forget. When I was there last in 2004, we got from YUL to downtown in less than 20 minutes, including several kilometers of stop-and-go downtown traffic.  Wow!

It still is 34 bucks, I was there in june for the F1 grand prix. It is amazing how quickly some of those cabbys can get downtown, alot of them are haitian french speakers with marginal english ability so they just laugh as I gasp at their aggressive lane changes and speeding in the breakdown lane. It's quite an experience!

The cheapest way would be the STM but you have to take a bus to the métro and it's really not practical with bags. You could also take the ATM regional train which stops about a kilometre from the airport but, again, it's a pain with luggage.

The best way is to take L'Aérobus.

That'll take you right the Queen Elizabeth.
