Going To Seattle On Friday

Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:11 am

Yup. We're burning up a couple of vouchers on a weekend trip to the Pacific Northwest. Going to a Sounders game sunday. Can anyone recommend some microbreweries?

Do you want to meet any of the Seattle A.net gang? I've intended to put together at least a meal out all summer long...might be the excuse we need!  Smile

· Elliott Bay Brewery Pub - My personal favorite. The people who work there are wonderful (and friends of mine). If you go, make sure you have the No Doubt Stout! It is the only beer I really drink anymore!

· Seattle Pyramid Ale House, Brewery, & Restaurant - You cannot go wrong here. So many good beers and a great environment.

· Hale's Ales - ("Think Globally, Drink Locally") This is also a good place.

I haven't been to these, but here are a few more:

· Elysian Brewing

· Redhook Breweries (They moved from Fremont to Woodinville, so I haven't been to the new location.)

· The Pike Brewing Company

If you need any other local information, feel free to send me a message or just post. Enjoy!

I'll be in SEA from the 26th to September 2nd. April, I know you and Mr. Harlot are going to SFO for the Labor Day meet. so if people are game midweek...?

Why look for breweries if you know you are going to get drunk all the same no matter where you are?

The Pacific Northwest has the best beer in the country, so I'm sure you can find some good stuff in Seattle. The soccer match should be fun. I hope you will be rooting for Charleston, as the Flounders are the scummiest soccer club on the face of the Earth.

This is right across the street from Safeco Field. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

I'm with the Stampede. I'll be wearing my Rhinos kit.

Count me in as another vote for the Pyramid Brewery. They have an amazing Hefe and Apricot Hefe, as well as some other good brews. The only thing they're missing in my book is a world class Amber Ale (my particular fave).

Oh... and Kell's is a great Irish joint that is down an alley just a block or two from Pike Place Market; it's a first class place to get brews and catch live Irish music on the weekend.

(Damn you Mark! Now you've made me homesick....I wish I could be there. But on second thought, April is probably glad I won't be.  wink  )

That's cool. The Rhinos get great support from Rochester. Anyone except the Sounders or Whitecaps is ok in my book.

So you are in the Stampede now? Your baseball pass has just been revoked.

The Rhinos do get great support from Rochester - to the tune of around 3 to 4 thousand fans per home game in their new Soccer specific stadium...Well done.

Seattle... cool city. I was there in 95, when the Kingdome still existed...

"With" the Stampede. Our seats are next to those guys, not among them.

Love Seattle. Go and eat at Ray's Boathouse. A little on the expensive side, but some of the best seafood in town. And whatever you do, get the recommended wine pairing. The in house Wine Master knows his shit.

You won't be sorry. I recommend the Alaskan Halibut. Absolutely phenomenal. My wife and I ate there when we were last in Seattle (for my birthday, about a month ago), and next time we go I'll be making sure we eat there again. Managed to drop a couple of hundred bucks between the two of us over three courses and a bottle of wine, but it was worth every penny.
