Currently, I'd say Family Guy. South Park can be very funny at times, and the Simpsons used to be good, too.

When I was a kid, I loved Tom & Jerry, Sylvester & Tweety, Wile E. Coyote & Road Runner.

But above all, I adored Disney's Humphrey the Bear, especially in the full-length film The Ranger of Brownstone National Park. Someone in my family still has the VHS I completely wore out during my childhood. The bastards haven't released it on DVD yet.  grumpy  banghead

Any Humphrey fans out there? I can't understand why he was so underused, and finally scrapped - he was IMO the funniest and most endearing of all cartoon characters ever created.  Smile

Sure do! One of my favorite childhood shows! Plus my dad is good friends with one of the animating directors of that show, Yvette Kaplan. She's also been involved in "Beavis and Butthead Do America"... which explains how the first time I saw that movie was when I was 8! Big grin

I still do. And what was the name of that rooster? Oh yes. Foghorn Leghorn. Had me in creases.

With the exception of Dexter's Laboratory - dubbed into Dutch here  grumpy  - and Cow and Chicken, I don't much care for that new fangled stuff.

What no love for Futurama?

Pretty much anything John K. has done is great. His two Jetsons cartoons are pretty good as well.

In addition to the previously mentioned Simpsons and Family Guy, I still like some of the original Adult Swim shows. Sealab 2021 is still freaking hysterical to me, as is The Brak Show, ATHF is classic as well. Also have to throw in Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law as well, mainly because of the way they did a number of the episodes around some of the rumors and in-jokes in regards to some cartoons (Scooby and Shaggy being potheads, Dr. Quinn and Race Bannon's relationship for example).

I'm also a fan of "Neurotically Yours", the online cartoon featuring Foamy The Squirrel.

Oh, yeah...Futurama is in my top-5:

Simpsons
Family Guy
Invader Zim ("I got monkeys in me!")
South Park

and, of course, FREAKAZOID!

(Curse you, Warner Bros., when will you release Freakzoid on DVD?)

I forgot about Freakzoid. I used to watch that show years back when Cartoon Network was showing it at 5 am (At the time, I was working 5 pm to 1:30 am, so I wouldn't go to bed until between 5-6 am). Some of the stuff Warner Brothers put out in the 90s definitely worked on multiple levels. I think Freakzoid might have been a bit over the top for most folks.

My favourite cartoons are the original Droopy cartoons from the 1930s. But anything with Tex Avery's mark will do. He made a one-off titled "Early Bird", where a worm hires a cat as a bodyguard to defend him against the proverbial early bird who gets the worm. It all ends with the bird eating the worm and the cat eating the bird.
(Oh ****, now I gave away the end of the story.)

I (kinda) love Futurama, one of the best modern cartoons. First Matt Groening created the Simpsons, then he refined the satire of that show and: Hey presto, Futurama!
