1. 2G iPod Nano 4GB Silver
2. Paid £129 + £20 for charger + case which would've been £40 at Currys.digital but paying in cash helped me to pay only £20 for charger + case - overall good value
3. Like the design, style, layout of menu on the screen, and the brightness/clarity of the screen
4. A few, lately the running time bar has frozen somewhere near the 4:00 mark and not moving after playing several different songs, synced my iPod the other night without adding songs and next day found out it had wiped several songs off my iPod, wire on the original headphones broke last week so bought a pair of Sony headphones as replacements
5. Mix of old and new bands
6. Overall rating 7.5/10

2. By today's standards, no! However, it was bought in New York so was cheaper than in the UK.
3. Not really.
4. Some woman spilt coffee or some such liquid on it and it doesn't work now.
5. Coffee stains.
6. 4/10 - It was a bulky pain in the ass and something extra to lose!

I left mine in the Renaissance hotel in AMS in a hungover moment of madness and it never got handed in so I'm going to buy a new one when I go to the USA at the end of the month. So for the old one:

1. 30GB Black iPod video
2. Bought it the Apple store near RDU ages ago for about $400 I think
3. Yeah I did love it until I was stupid to leave it in a hotel.. d'oh
4. Only when I was stupid enough to run a beta copy of Vista and managed to wipe the damn thing. But that's my own stupidity
5. Far too long to list.. Anything and everything.
6. 10. Never used the video bit on it but for audio I couldn't fault it. Hence why I'll be buying another  Smile

4. None, it operates flawlessly every time.
5. Music, a few tv shows, misc crap
6. 9. they could stand to come off the price a bit I think.

1. 30 GB Black iPod video (6th generation)
2. I payed $250 for it. Yes, it is very much worth it.
3. I love it. It makes carrying music SO much easier.
4. The hard drive froze on my last iPod (3rd Generation), other than that, just be prepared for a battery seepage the longer you have it.
5. God, I only have about 780 songs, some videos, 1 feature length movie, and album artwork. Basically every genre of American music is covered, as well as some foreign music.
10. 9.8/10 Losing .2 for the battery. It is a phenomenal piece of technology.

1. 1Gen Nano 4Gb black
2. Yes. 199 Euro for 4Gb flash mp3 player 2 years ago was a great price. Minus 16% VAT  Smile
3. Yes. Actually I bought it with kit to use in my car. I can control it from the steering wheel, read song names on display... And of cause I use it on trips. Good sound, never run out of battery. Kit headphones sucks, but I replaced them with noise cancelling Sennheisers.
4. Not at all. But I don't like iTunes.
5. Different music, from Classic to Pop.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
1. What kind of iPod do you have?

1st generation nano, 4GB, black. (About two years old now.)

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
2. Is the price good value?

yes. Today you'd get more memory, a full-metal case and improved features for the same price, so it's still quite decent.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
3. Do you like?

Sure. Its plastic front (since replaced by metal) has some cosmetic scratches and the battery capacity has decreased a bit, but it still works well and is a pleasure to use.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
4. Any techincal difficulties?

Very rarely it refuses to switch off on command (holding the play/pause button for a while). A restart fixes that (holding menu+center for a while).

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
5. What is on yours?

Usually a random mix from my library (which doesn't nearly fit all in the 4GB); Also text notes and a synched copy of my iCal data.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
6. Rating out of 10

8-9. There are a few changes I'd make, but nothing fundamental.

3. This is my first iPod, and I don't know how I survived before having one.
4. None at all
5. About 8,000 songs. A crapload.

1. 8 GB iPhone
2. I think the current price is a good value, but still glad I got my $100 store credit after the price drop (paid $599).
3. I absolutely love my iPhone - it combined two devices I carried around and traveled with regularly - my k610i phone and my prior iPod model, a 30 GB video.
4. Initially, yes but those have all been worked out through firmware updates. I have also found that it should be rebooted every now and then but this hasn't been an inconvinience.
5. All of my top rated (i.e. five star) music on iTunes.
6. 8.0.

1. Just got home with a brand new 16gb iPod touch.
2. Little on the pricey side.. but its loaded with cool features... wi-fi, safari, calendar, etc.
3. Haven't really played with it too much yet, but so far i like it a lot.
4. None.
5. Already have 531 songs on it, 1 podcast, and 255 pictures.
6. 9 / 10.

I also have a 4gb iPod mini - green... had it for a couple years. It works well but there's a short in the headphone jack so the cable has to be in the right spot or the left headphone / speaker shorts out.. it served me well for a few years.

I own two iPods, so there will be two answers to each question:

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
1. What kind of iPod do you have?

4th generation 20GB monochrome iPod (white) & a 2nd generation 1GB iPod Shuffle (silver)

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
2. Is the price good value?

20GB - $299 (It was worth it, although I could have waited a few weeks and gotten the color display.)
Shuffle - $79 (I would have paid more.)

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
3. Do you like?

I never go anywhere without at least one of the two.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
4. Any technical difficulties?

Yep, I've had to replace the hard drive on my 20GB model, but luckily it was under warranty. The battery life is going down-hill and I am starting to think about an after-market higher-capacity battery.

Quoting QantasA333 (Thread starter):
5. What is on yours?

Too many things, I have too many choices.  banghead

I have a 60gb iPod video and a new16gb iPod touch.

I love the touch. It let's me post this from the bar.

Good value? Nope. An expensive toy.

I've experienced no technical problems.

I'd rate it 8 out of 10. More storage space and flash support would improve that number.

Up until 7 September 2007 when I lost it somewhere between Terminal 1 security at LHR and the gate.

1. Currently fallen back to my trusty 4GB gold iPod Mini waiting for the iPod Touch to finally appear in the stores here
2. Pretty good value overall - had it for a couple of years of faultless service (and how often can you say that about electronics these days?)
3. Yes, but when going back to it after the G2 nano it feels huge and heavy!
4. Minor one now that the battery is on the downward slide, occassionally when plugged into the computer it gives a message that the iPod appears to be corrupted, but ejecting it and then reattaching it seems to cure this - more of an annoyance really.
5. A small selection of my library.

4. No, not really.

5. I don't have a lot right now. Only about 750 songs but since it's a video iPod I plan on adding some video soon.

To answer your questions:

1. What kind of iPod do you have?

3G iPod nano (8 GB teal blue case)

2. Is the price good value?

Yes.

3. Do you like?

Yes. Mostly because of its amazingly small size and you can still see clear video playback.

4. Any techincal difficulties?

Cover flow navigation was slow and the player would crash playing long videos, but that was fixed with 1.0.1 firmware upgrade.

5. What is on yours?

14 complete albums and 12 regularly-downloaded podcasts.

6. Rating out of 10

9 out of 10 (would be 10 out of 10 if they get the third-party protection cases shipping by now).

I'm posting from my new 16gig iPod touch. So far so good.

Haven't had the chance to throw songs or movies on yet but I am enjoying the Internet browsing and photo browsing. It has some slick features that make things like typing this post fairly easy. It will be nice for places like airports where I want to browse the web but not whip out the laptop. One note I have noticed from typing this mesage is that the predictive spelling feature is one of the best I have used. Typing with two thumbs is a breeze.
