the suckeyes will probably be #2 or #3 depending on what happens with LSU.

Cal should move up to #1 or #2 depending on what happens.

I love it. I hate USC. Great win.

Especially since it ends their winning streak at home.

Don't think that's quite fair to the Eagles, who are top 10 team. BG has had a solid year so far, but when you move that far up into the rankings, and on the road, you're probably in for a beating, if you're a MAC school. I'm not too upset with their showing.

The Bucks are up 23-0 early in the 4th at Purdue, making their claim for the #1 ranking in the nation.

Rematch of last years national championship game anyone? To have OSU lose to UF in football, then basketball, then football would unbelievable.

Not out of the realm. There could be a slew of 1/2 loss teams that have a legit chance of making it to the BCS game. Florida might have thought their season was over last week, but they're right back in it now. And I can see OSU running the Big Ten table. The tough game in their stretch might be Illinois, whom Ron Zook has done a fantastic job of turning around. I think they'll be both Wisconsin and Michigan. Illinois could be the dicey game.

I'm not sold on KU being a threat this season yet after that patsy non-conference schedule of yours, but this was a start to changing my mind on that...nice win for you guys, the Big 12 North race is certainly gonna be mighty interesting this season...

My Hurricanes were getting killed for the most part against North Carolina. They just aren't a good football team this year, I 'm hoping that they'll get into the Emerald Bowl. 6-6 looks tough at this point.

Haha. Jamaal Charles... dude, even if we did win, we really didn't deserve it. Plus, USC lost!!!

A&M barely pulled it off. OSU got that roughin the kicker on the punt, otherwise they woulda had the ball w like a minute-somethin to go, and really I think they woulda won.

Either way, happy birthday pace!! (his bday makes this incredibly hard to type  Wink )

I think LSU will be #1 and Ohio State will be #2, based on what happened last night. Ohio State came within a few minutes of becoming #1, if Florida had just held on to win the game.

How does the almighty Pete Carroll lose a game in which he is favored by some 40 points?? Man, I bet the LA media made him turn water into wine in the press conference just to make sure it was really him out there.

That said, the madness that has been the last two weeks is almost perfect. Just a few more teams that need to lose and we can once again bash the farce of a system that is the BCS and hopefully move toward something more meaningful that puts championship hopes in the hands of the teams and takes them away from biased writers who are to oft influenced by the equally biased major sports network.

Point in case -- anyone catch Gameday yesterday when Corso predicted a blowout...then realized the game was being played on ESPN's sister station and suddenly revised his prognostication to a good game that opens up later in the fourth quarter.

Hey, I'm not sold either...not by far. But a win is a win, especially against our ranked in state rival. I don't expect to be anything near ranked on Monday (despite what a good chunk of the KU faithful are saying...idiots), but hopefully we can win next weekend at home against Baylor and be 6-0...that would feel goooooood.  Smile

Gators lose to LSU, but it's good to see the team spreading out the offense, rather than relying on Tebow to carry the entire load. I'd dis Ohio State for their opponent this coming weekend..perennial powerhouse Kent State (!?!)--but the Gators get to play Florida Atlantic later this season. And FA gave the surprising USF Bulls a good run Saturday.
Interesting season so far(!)

You can say that again! I went to the game, and that was by far the loudest I've ever heard the crowd at Kyle Field. I'm just surprised that OSU kicked the short field goal with about 2 mintes left in the game, and didn't try for the onside kick... Oh well, I'm just glad the Aggies won!

UCLA falls to the number 119 Notre Dame. Notre Dame has been improving game by game, especially the defense. The offense could not do to much yesterday because of the great field position the defense gave them. Hopefully they might be able to give Boston College a run for their money.

Cal is number 2.

I told you all they wouldn't get jumped by tOSU*.

they have no meaningful wins. Cal has 2.

Pretty god damned close though. 27 points seperating the two.

Wow...I am truly in awe. I don't like being ranked, and I don't like being ranked as high as 20th...I know some of our guys, and they'll get a big head, think they're unstoppable, and slack off against Baylor this weekend thinking "hey, we're ranked, we're so much better than these guys"...this scares me a lot.

My best guess...

1. LSU @ 17 Kentucky --- LSU pulls out late win, maybe
2. Cal vs. Oregon State --- Cal rolls
3. Ohio State vs. Kent State --- OSU rolls
4. Boston College @ Notre Dame --- BC has a fight, upset alert
5. South Florida vs. Central Florida --- USF pulls off a win
11. Missouri @ 6 Oklahoma --- OU rolls at home
14. Arizona State vs. Washington --- Washington wins
15. Cincinnati vs. Louisville --- Louisville takes out Cincy
16. Hawaii @ San Jose State --- Hawaii rolls
20. Kansas vs. Baylor --- Can Baylor pull the upset? I'm going with the concern above...Magino's boys get cocky
(unranked) UConn @ Virginia --- Close, Virginia wins

So that leaves us with LSU, Cal, OSU, BC, USF, and Hawaii.

Who makes it out of that bunch? I really don't know. I'm really moving towards the belief we won't have an unbeaten this year.

Hawaii @ SJSU will be closer than you think. I too think that UH will win, but everytime Hawaii heads to Spartan Stadium, they always are played tough. Especially with ex-Hawaii coach Dick Tomey coaching the Spartans.

They'll win, but it'll be a significantly tougher test than Utah State or Idaho.

Its been nearly 20 years since Tomey coached Hawai'i. Pretty much nothing si the same since then....coaches, players, logo, etc.

Most of the players are too old to even remember Tomey....I barely do and I'm older than most of the players.

I predict Hawai'i will win with a score like 49-21.

Alot of our game scores are closer than the games were since the other teams score on our 2nd and 3rd string guys in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Yeah, but it's not the fact that the players know who he is, its the fact that Tomey is a defensive genius and will scheme something up to confuse the Warriors with.

Hawaii will eventually pull away, and your 21 point win prediction is pretty much where I would put Hawaii's margin of victory at, but it's not going to be a 65-3 game like most of their games are.
Their last 2 trips to SJ, Hawaii has won by a total of 10 points.

They'll probably win by more this time, but this game isn't going to be as easy as many think.

I want UH to go undefeated too, and I hate the Spartans, but I just see it as being a closer than usual game.

yep....I was at the 13-10 2003 victory. The finish of that game was CRAZY (clock ran out on SJSU...or did it).

Like any other conference, teams that look "bad" can cause havoc for the "good" teams (just ask USC). For Hawai'i games at SJSU, Nevada-Reno and LaTech have been tough, and Boisie anywhere as well.

Danny Woodhead broke the all-division career rushing yardage record this weekend. He now holds the record with 7,441 career rushing yards.

Check out the official story: http://www2.csc.edu/athletics/news/list.pl?article=2107

Quote:
Danny Woodhead became college football's all-time leading rusher Saturday afternoon while leading Chadron State College to a 21-0 victory over Western New Mexico in Silver City.
Woodhead carried 34 times for 208 yards to increase his career rushing total to 7,441 yards, 88 more than R. J. Bowers of Grove City College in Pennsylvania accumulated from 1997 through 2000.

Woodhead, who scored on runs of 4 and 29 yards in the first half, passed Bowers during a five-yard run early in the second half. He received the ball he was carrying and was given a standing ovation by the crowd.

I watched this guy at a high school game once, he was unstoppable. It's hard for a scarlet-blooded Husker fan to fathom that he was completely unnoticed by Nebraska. What a shame.
