That Lowes car sure does pretty good at Lowes Motor Speedway. My money (or fantasy list if you will) is on him for that very reason.

Are there only four of us still doing the fantasy thing?

Was very pleased (and surprised!) to see Ward Burton qualify 15th last night, especially since he and Scott Riggs had the normally bad starting draw of going out early. Guess I'll at least set the DVR this week.

As for the race, I see the normal Charlotte routine reigning supreme Saturday night:

1. Ryan Newman jumps out early to a big lead, laps about 15 cars by the 50 lap mark

2. Caution traps those 15 (14 after free pass) down right as pit stops begin to occur

3. Kasey Kahne makes an appearance up front only to wreck when a tire goes down

4. The HAAS racing Chevy's have a good night out with Johnny Sauter finishing in top 15

5. Jimmie Johnson takes over the lead with less than 50 laps to go and beats Casey Mears for the win

Green Leaving Haas, to Gibbs or Childress?

Didn't Jeff Green drive for Childress back somewhere around 2000? It was the #30 AOL car I seem to remember.

Yes you are correct. The #30 AOL Chevy...don't remember too much of that car..other than it was usually running in the back of the pack!

Great race tonight but terrible luck for Ryan Newman. He took off like a rocket ship on the second to the last restart..only to wreck a few laps later. Also nice to see Waltrip get a top-10 tonight.

Jeff Gordon is tearin' it up! Seeing as how next week is Martinsville, look for the #24 to keep tearin' it up! The Drive for 5 is on baby!
