NFL Week #6. How's Your Team Doing?

Sun Oct 14, 2007 8:48 pm

Had you told me after week 1, that the Browns would be 3-3 going into the bye week, and that they'd be averaging about 27 points a game, I'd have committed you. But that's where they're at.

The Dolphins made a 2nd half run at the Browns, but the Browns ended up coasting to a 41-31 win. Braylon Edwards had 3 TD catches, and Kellen Winslow had another big day for the Browns. Derreck Anderson now has 14 TD passes on the year, and showed signs or really maturing today, not throwing any picks, and making the right decision if receivers were covered. He had a QB rating of about 142 today.

The Browns defense continues to struggle, giving up their 6th straight 100 yard rushing game to an opponent (Ronnie Brown today), and still not being able to come up with stops on their own. Romeo has said changes are coming to the D during the Bye week. They're a good D-line away from being a real contender, which is incredible.

They'll get Jamal Lewis back in two weeks against STL, and, possibly, LeCharles Bentley could be activated in the news two weeks, making a very good O-line even better. I'm thrilled at the improvement of the Brownies.

The Cardinals/Panthers game just starting the second quarter has developed into a battle between quarterbacks that were signed last week. Looks to be a long afternoon for the Cardinals with Rattay at the controls. Currently 6-0 Panthers.

Since that thread has less replies, we oughta just stick with this one.

The Saints will get to show their ineptitude in front of a national TV audience tonight on NBC against the marginally good Seahawks.....wonder if the D'backs/Rockies game will pull in better ratings than this dog  wink

Badly, the Redskins lost 14-17 to the Packers  Sad

Still a better result than the Giants game a few weeks back with that fumble on their own 1 yard line...

He won two titles here in Arizona, until he got trouble with his administration and he was sacked. Other schools outside the league refused to schedule his team at the end because he kept running the score up. Meanwhile the Cards 10 Panthers 9 in the battle of the backups 4th quarter.

Well I was at the game today in Green Bay, and it was good to finally see the Packers win for once. Before today they were 1-3 when I've been at the game. It wasn't too pretty on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense stepped up and got the job done. Here's some pics from today:

I think my Fish may be the only team to have teams that have both been undefeated and no wins in a season. They truly suck ass.

At least I got some points from someone in the game for my fairy tale football team.  Wink

Back? Where did he go? Did he get busted for shoplifting again? Or was it drug charges again. Sorry you get to have such a wonderful ghetto thug on your team. If it wasn't for football he'd be nothing more than a petty criminal down here in ATL.

Jesus, why don't you find out the scoop before starting such crap, DG? He suffered a foot injury on his first carry from scrimmage against the Pats last week. With a bye week coming up this week, and playing the Fins, it was felt he could take the two weeks off, and get 100% healthy for the season.

As for your comments, he's been a solid team leader since coming over, and has been a good influence on the locker room. Everyone's allowed a mistake in their lives, DG. He did his time, he moved on, and he's been doing a great job for the Browns this year.

Sheesh!

He's had more than one going back to his high school days here in ATL hence my reference to the shoplifting. I just don't like the guy because he has always had that spoiled athlete attitude about him.

Maybe time in the pokey changed him. I don't know. I just have memories of him in HS and then college at Tennessee and his attitude and behavior then.

Congrats on the win at the expense of the Fish. At least someone's winning these days.

I was at the game today, and i gotta tell ya it was a Blast!

The offense is very good.... and the defense is terrible... to say the least.

Hopefully, the Browns can improve the defense during the Bye-week.

GO BROWNS!

Nice to see the Saints play the game they're capable of, beating the Seahawks on the road 28-17.....Brees spread the ball around, took a number of shots downfield, the defense stepped up when they needed to, and the special teams had a couple of big plays. Hopefully, in the mess that is the NFC South, the Saints can use tonights game as a starting point towards a run to the division title.

Nah, I wouldn't wish that on him.

A side note from tonight's Patsies-Cowgirls game...Wes Welker.

I sure hope we get something good out of those draft picks we got from the Pats for him. Their 3rd option at wide receiver gets 2 TDs in the game and is having a great year. We get draft picks (bound to eff those up), Ted Ginn Jr. (snazzy kick returns...NOT! and the ability to run 3 half assed routes porrly), and Cleo Effing Lemon at QB (I once knew a fat beagle named Cleo.)

Being a Dolphins fan is like being in an abusive relationship. Why do I keep coming back for more?

If Green has to retire with his "Dain Bramage" and we come out of the bye week still winless or with one crappy ass win he needs to start and get some time under fire. It worked for Aikman. Maybe it'll work for him. And we all know he isn't getting any younger. How the hell do you get a 26 year old rookie? Oh yeah, go on a Mormon mission.

Just got back home from Dallas. What a great game I saw in Irving (great because NE won). First time at Texas Stadium and it was fun. It was cool to be part of a game as big as that one.

There were tons of NE fans there too. I will say 80% were Cowboy fans, 19% NE, and then this one Miami fan.

Getting a cab after the game took almost three hours though...they have this weird system of waiting in a line that went on forever (the line was actually getting growing faster then you could walk to get to the end!).

Excellent win by the Patriots. I got a little worried when the game was 24:21 for Dallas, but fortunately, the Cowgirls were beaten by the Patriots.

And now, it's back for me to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the usual bashing of the NE Patriots. Big grin  duck
