NFL Game Pics: Colts/Panthers

Mon Oct 29, 2007 1:29 am

Here are some pics I took today at the Colts/Panthers game at Bank of America stadium in CLT. I made the trip to see Peyton Manning play again. It was my 8th time seeing him in charge as QB (twice in high chool, four times in college, and now two in the NFL).

A few comments:

1) It's a really nice place to see a football game. I was in the nose bleed section but the view was still good. The stadium has excellent sight lines, plenty of amenities, and a good location.

2) There was a healthy dose of Colts fans at the game. In my section there were just as many Manning jerseys as they were Panthers jerseys.

3) At the 10 minute mark in the 4th quarter, with the score of the game 24-7 Colts, a good chunk of the Panthers fans headed for the exists. By the 5 minute mark, the stadium was less than half full.

4) The Panthers fans who I met were very nice and I had a good conversation with one of them.

5) Great CLT skyline views from the 500 level!

Overall it was a great way to spend an afternoon, and the Colts came through with a big 31-7 win. Next up: The Patriots @ the RCA Dome next week.

BTW, $7 parking at an NFL game isn't too bad. But the $20 lot I saw maybe a block closer to the stadium certainly is.  Wink

Looks like you had a good time! And the results helped out the Saints big time...as did the Jags beating the Bucs. Saints are now only one game back in the mess that is the NFC South.

The Saints are on a roll. I am still very confident that they'll win that division. The offense is finally clicking!

That should be a good high-scoring game, but looking at how the defenses stack up, it looks like the Patriots have the edge in this game...

I am going with NE, 45-41. Brady and Manning will total 10 touchdowns...

I am hoping my Steelers pull off wins next Monday vs the Ravens and the following week vs. the Browns. You can never know with the Ravens, but the Browns are quite pissed... They'd have to be after losing to the Black n Gold 7 or 8 times in a row!

I think the game will be very high scoring, although I hope that the outcome will be the opposite of the one you posted.

Oh I hope it will, too. I emphatically hate New England, but they seem to have the edge over Indianapolis. They have a better balanced defense I think. Both offenses are very strong, but the defense will be the deciding factor I think. But who knows. Indianapolis shut them down in the AFC title game last year...
