Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):

1. Name the 4 Ship captains + 1 starbase (i.e. the leader of each series)

James T. Kirk

Jean-Luc Picard

Benjamin Sisko

Cathrine Janeway

Johnathan Archer

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
2. What is the name of the (interdimentional) race that the Borg could not assimilate

Species 8472

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
3. What is the name of the episode where we first meet Commander Riker?

Encounter at Farpoint STTNG

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
4. What is a mindmeld?

A Vulcan ability to physically touch another person and share thoughts, memories, emotions, experiences.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
5. What is the title of the head of the klingons?

Klingon Chancellor of the High Council.

First it was Kem'pec, then Gowron (civil war, with Duras family), then Martok. Kahless was the Klingon Emperor starting in the sixth season of TNG.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
6. Who is Jake?

Ben Sisko dumbass son. Who becomes a reporter, and is a total pussy during the war.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
7. Who has a dog on a starship?

Captain Archer of the NX-01 Enterprise. Porthos.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
8. What race is Kes?

Ocompa. OR.... the race of useless characters that eventually get bounced off the show for being too boring, and replaced by one hell of a smoking hot woman.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
9. What is the name of the first human to fly a warp spacecraft?

Zefram Cochrane, accompanied by William T. Riker and Jordie LaForge.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
10. Who is the leader of the Borg?

Ugh. Well at first it was established that the Borg were a collective race, all sharing the same thoughts and goals. No one was an individual. However, in Star Trek First Contact a Borg queen was introduced. In Star Trek Voyager we meet the queen again, however she is different from the one we saw in STFC. So this suggests that the leader is not necessarily a specific person, but a special title. The queen says that she was once a seperate species, and was assimilated by the Borg when she was a small child. Thus suggesting that the queen is like any other drone, until specifically chosen to fill the role. In the last episode of Voyager we meet the queen again, however she is the same drone we saw in STFC.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
Bonus: Who created Star Trek?

Gene Roddenberry.

I did all of this by memory, so don't hold my answers as 100% truth.

1. In order of when the shows were produced - Captain James Kirk, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Captain Benjamin Sisko (commanding officer of DS9, the station), Captain Kathryn Janeway and lastly Captain Jonathan Archer.

2. Species 8472.

3. Encounter at Farpoint (the first episode of TNG).

4. It's a procedure that the Vulcans do that would allow one individual to share his or her thoughts, memories and experiences with another. It isn't restricted to just Vulans but can be performed on other races too, but the initiator I guess can only be Vulan. This is most famously seen in that Season 3 episode of TNG 'Sarek'.

5. Chancellor.

6. I presume you mean Jake Sisko? If so he is Benjamin Sisko's son.

7. Captain Archer.

8. Ocampa.

9. Zefram Cochrane.

10. The Queen.

Bonus question: Gene Roddenberry

Zefram Cochran. (I'm not sure of the spelling on the first name though.)

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
10. Who is the leader of the Borg?

The Queen. She had a "designation" of some sort too I think.

Let's have some REAL Trek trivia:

Name the original Constitution Class Starships:

Name the Captain of the U.S.S. Excalibur that was killed in the episode "The Ultimate Computer", and Bonus, what other primary crew member was killed at the same time:

Where was Enterpsie-D constructed.

How old was Adm McCoy in the Episode "Encounter at Far Point".

That'll be a good start . . .

Who portrayed the surviving senior officer of the Enterprise C and what was the battle where the ship died?

How functional was Data?

What side was black on Frank Gorshins face?

What different characters has Rene Auberjeanois portrayed on both big and small screen?

Quoting DL021 (Reply 17):

No idea about who was the senior officier, but the fight was between Klingons and Romulans at a Klingon Outpost, and the Enterprise C was responding to a distress call, and sacrificed itself to save the outpost. Their sacrifice is considered an act of honour by the Klingon Empire, which allowed them to strengthen their ties with the Federation and salvage the peace treaty of Khitomer, which was about to be broken due to tensions between the Federation and the Klingons.

Actually a variation of it was used in STIV-TVH; with Kirk actually saying, "Scotty, beam me up."... just before Catherine Hicks grabs ahold of him.

Here's a another trivia question: What was the name of Catherine Hicks' character in STIV-TVH?

In TOS, the phrase most often used regarding the transporter was, "Energize."... long before the Energizer battery came out. Big grin

Here's a another trivia question: What was the name of Catherine Hicks' character in STIV-TVH?

Dr. Gillian (don't know her last name).

Here's a couple or so - what irregularity happened twice when Spock was shooting upwards through the turboshaft w/Kirk and McCoy in ST5-TFF?

What advanced medicine didn't work when Kirk and his senior staff were aging rapidly (TOS episode)?

And here's the "Let's see if anyone can even find this on Google" question - what was the command code Data used to lockdown the Enterprise-D when he was summoned to Noonian Soong's planet?

Those were just from the top of my head - and I don't know the answer to the last one - I just wanted to see how much a nerd of StarTrek one could be. Big grin

Here's another question: In ST: THV, how much did Kirk get for the glasses (the ones he got from Dr. McCoy for his birthday) he sold?

Also: What were the final words spoken by Captain Janeway in the end of the Voyager episodes "Caretaker" and "Endgame"?

Nothing, it was made randomly up by the creator, although there are plenty of rumors for it.

Officially, according to the book, "The Making of Star Trek" (I am a geezer, I have a FIRST edition printing, from Sept 1966   , you're correct. In later years, it has been noted that NCC stands for Naval Construction Contract.

Captain Kirk, Spock, and Ensign Jim beam down to a hostile planet. Who is about to die?

The poor bastard in the red shirt . . . something about those red shirts . . .

OK, since we're talking Uniforms:

In TOS, each color of uniform represented a particular field of interest. So:

Gold =
Blue =
Red = (I mean besides about to die on some godforsaken planet somewhere)

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 22):
It was never said, neither in TOS, nor in the films.

Correct - but almost . . . .

Never said in the series, although I had a T-Shirt once . . .

However, STVI, the words were transposed . . . "Scotty, Beam me up", Kirk said. The entire theater burst out in laughter . . . well, at least those of us that knew why it was important.

Quoting JGPH1A (Reply 27):

Speaking of daughters, what did Data name his daughter?

Do you mean his base programming scheme? Positronic, if I follow you correctly.

Noooo, back in Season 1 of TNG, Data and Lt Yar do the wild thing . . . after she asks him, "Data, how functional are you"? He replied, "Fully (gulp) functional". "Cut to commercial".

Quoting Allstarflyer (Reply 28):
what irregularity happened twice when Spock was shooting upwards through the turboshaft w/Kirk and McCoy in ST5-TFF?

Spock failed to calculate for the additional weight of McCoy and Kirk with the rocket boots. Also note that when they did shoot up in the shaft you see deck numbers rolling by, eventually getting to something like Deck 78. NO Enterprise ever had 78 decks . . .

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 29):

$100. "Is that a lot"?

Don't forget ST: First Contact, when the Borg Queen asks him if he's fully functional. He replies: "I am... fully functional. Programmed in... multiple techniques".

And here's another question: can non-Vulcans, e.g. Humans, also apply the Vulcan Nerve Pinch?

IIRC, Spock attempted to teach it to Kirk . . . and after a fashion Kirk learned it - more or less . . .

But my answer is: No.

What Class Ship is Enterprise E?

Enterprise D?

Enterprise C?

Enterprise B?

Enterprise A?

Enterprise?

Actually the answer is yes. In Star Trek Enterprise, although while holding Surak's Katra, Archer actually performed the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. Picard also learned the VNP after a special mindmeld with Sarek. Finally, Data could also perform the VNP with no problems.

Enterprise Class . . .

At least according to two books I have at home . . .

Although a derivitive of Constitution Class, Enterprise was the first ship re-built . . . (See ST-TMP), and thus a new "Class" of ship was born.

Thanks for that.

After TOS and about 1/2 way thru TNG I rather lost interest . . . . or perhaps got a life. So I wasn't sure. I never watched ST-DS9 - boring and only got in a few episodes of Voyager.

But I'll bleed you on TOS.  laughing

Ohhhh, here's a good one.

Enterprise A was renamed from what ship?

The Enterprise A was originally designated USS Yorktown, but it's not really been canonically proven.

Correct, but there's a catch: you can only perform the Picard Maneuver on a ship that has either only lightspeed sensors, or if the crew doesn't figure out that through gaseous displacement, the real ship can be discovered. For example: remember when Picard had those vivid flashbacks thanks to DaiMon Bok's mind device. He thought the Enterprise was the Ferengi ship that attacked the Stargazer and tried the Picard Maneuver on it. However, the Enterprise couldn't be fooled thanks to Data figuring out the gaseous displacement that helped track the real thing.

The trick for the Picard Maneuver is to suddenly go to maximum warp for a couple of seconds or so to create this effect.

I believe you can also see it in TNG episdoe "Relics".
