I love Cabernet Sauvignon...aka Cab Sav...

something so wonderful about several glasses that put me in an unusually good mood....

anyone out there feel the same?

can anyone recommend their favorite?

Personally, I enjoy $20 or less...i know wine...but I am not willing to spend a lot on it...only on select types (Port, occasional expensive riesling ((girlfriend loves it))

A majority of the wines I like are coming from S. America (Chile & Argentina), Spain, Marlborough (just their Sauvignon Blanc), and the Northwest US (many of which rival the vines of Napa and even the old world). I am a sucker however for a bottle of cheap Pillar Box Red (Red meritage blend) from Australia, which has had great vintages practically every year. Unfiltered, full-bodied, spice, spanking deep, lots of dark fruit... I feel like having another barbecue.

Ummm, Cabernet. Sterling's 2005 from Napa Valley is my favorite right now. It has a dry, spicy start and a gentle finish. Two glasses of that and a good meal is my favorite way to unwind these days.

Without a doubt my all-time favorite is Shafer Hilllside Select. Very expensive, but I love it. Some of my other favorites:

Chimney Rock
Pride
Duckhorn
Etude
Caymus Special Selection

If anyone likes inexpensive cab, check out anything out of the Walla Walla valley in Washington. Very under-rated area for cabs. Also good Syrahs there as well. I was in the area for a business trip and just went for the heck of it, but was very surprised at the wines there.
