Wow...low scoring Navy game last night. Must have hurt to not have Paul Johnson there.

Looking forward to the Meineke Car Care Bowl next weekend...I'll be on the field with my camera equipment taking photos for the Wake Forest newspaper.

So far so good for the Mountain West. 3-0 and TCU has a chance to make it a perfect 4-0 against Houston.

The Boise St. game is a shocker.

What a horrible decision by UCLA to not take at least one shot at the end zone. Either that, or snap the ball farther, given that their kicker is well proven to 54 yards and it would have only meant about 35.

I was at the Hawai'i Bowl. Boise State played terribly in the first 2.5 quarters. They didn't have a FIRST DOWN until well into the 2nd quarter.

ECU played well throughout. Their RB #5 (Johnson) was amazing. You could tell Boise was missing their #1 receiver (his replacement fumbled twice) and Ian Johnson who had a sprained ankle.

Boise did not at all look like the team Hawai'i beat a month ago. Hopefully the WAC can turn it around in Bowl games.....they're going 0-2 so far.

Can't wait for the SUGAR BOWL!!!! 1-1-08.

BELIEVE!!

Definitely was a great comeback by CMU...what did them in was the designed short kick-off after they scored to tie the game at 48...I thought that was an incredibly dumb call...should've kicked it deep and take their chances stopping Purdue's kick returner and thus giving them a longer field rather than the relatively short field Purdue had to work with...

Central Michigan had a great comeback. I didn't see it (was watching Star Trek Generations), but that last second (literally) field goal really saved the Boilermakers.

I'm gonna miss most of the daytime games next week cause I'll be skiing, but will still be able to see the evening games. There are too many bowl games anyway though.

Anyone just see that crazy play in the Holiday Bowl where one of the guys on the Texas bench suposedly touched a ball that was in play after Arizona State fumbled?! That could've possibly put Arizona State away if Texas would of went down and scored but instead its a touchdown for the sundevils.

Poor officiating...

I feel really bad for the Texas D, who's really yielded no points, yet 10 are on the scoreboard.

ASU has a penchant for coming back in the 2nd half, those 10 points could turn out to be huge.

Don't they need conclusive video evidence to reverse the call? I didn't see conclusive evidence that he touched the ball. If Texas would have lost, though, that guy would be like the infamous Cubs fan. Congrats to Texas on winning! Nice how all the secondary players were in during the 4th quarter. Anyone know what happened to Rudy Carpenter? (I was watching another Star Trek movie tonight. Not everyone in my family shares my passion for football.) And the announcers sure got bored at the end. They were discussing everything but the game.

Speaking of Carpenter, to me he looks like the stereotypical football player (ie, full of himself). He just has the look of thinking he is better than everyone else and will not bow to conclusive evidence otherwise.

Pssh,

They got beat by a much better football team. Out-hustled, out-played, and I can't believe I'm saying this, out-coached.

The only saving grace to make the game look somewhat respectable was a poor job of officiating. After what should have been a turnover, Texas very well could've gone up 28-0, at the very least, it's still 21-0, as opposed to 21-7.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by not only our players and coaching staff, but the intensity. Even after a couple of Arizona St. surges in momentum (after the touchdown/3 and out), and at the beginning of the 2nd half, UT dug deep, kept the intensity level high, and had very important scoring drives.

All the ASU turnovers didn't hurt, either.  Wink

Good game Sun Devils! The Holiday Bowl once again shows why it's one of the more exciting non-BCS bowls.

At least it wasn't another faceless no-name bowl featuring two 6-6 teams. Top non-BCS bowls in my humble opinion are the Holiday, and Sun Bowls. Quite of few disappointed ASU fans in the hotel on the morning after the game, but they seemed just happy to have the opportunity to have fun at the game. Meanwhile, from what I read in the paper West Virginia University didn't come close to selling out their allotment of tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.

Not surprised, Most of the tickets were advertised being sold in packages, like hotel and transportation, all figured out by the university. Dumb move by them. Plus, most of us are still a bit pissed at Rich Rod, but the team knows we still are behind them.

To the ILLINI:

HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL WITH BOTH HANDS.

Sorry for the caps, but for gosh sakes.

The game is obviously over ... SC just scored to make it 42-10, but when this game was 21-10, and Illinois was driving, fumble.

And when the score was 28-10, and Illinois was driving...fumble.

I'm not even an Illinois alum, but I root for the Big Ten. So damn frustrating.

Well Lloyd Carr goes out with a win.....

DAMMIT

To be expected. We knew this season's Gators were a young bunch still learning the ropes, that we'd be rebuilding and it was easy to be blinded by the stellar performance of Tebow and the explosiveness of Harvin to help in ignoring their youngness. We've seen this team start to grow up and play better and better football all season...

...until they decide to absolutely regress on any progress made this season during the bowl game.

That Michigan could blitz over and over again to so much success, they might have been better off simply letting the Gators' offensive line sit on the bench for the entire game! It doesn't matter how super awesome Tebow is, if he doesn't have room to move and protection....Our secondary's inexperience was exploited again and again.

The only redeeming thought is that Tebow, Harvin, and most of the team is back next year. If the line and secondary decide to grow up and play football, we have a scarily good team on all fronts for next season.

PS - Where was this Michigan team the rest of the season?

And will still be beaten by Georgia.

If Hawaii keeps playing the way the did that first drive and first defensive series, it's going to be a long night for the Warriors. Moreno played them like a ukulele at a luau.

Depends, if FL can improve early next year with the talent they have (kind of like UGA this year), then it will be one rock em sock em cocktail party!

In any case, could be a very good year for the SEC in bowls; 5-2 at this point looking pretty good for 6-2.

Incidentally, what a field goal for UGA! I think he would have hit it from 60.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. If the Gator defense hadn't mugged the Wolverines so many times it wouldn't have been as close as it was.

Well I'm thankful the one thing to survive from our defense last year has been the ability to force turnovers and get the ball back.

Of course, they must capitalize on those opportunities.

A bit over a minute left to go in the half, opposing team has the ball, I have all my time outs....what should I do?

Apparently if you are Hawaii you just let the other team run the clock out. It just seems that Hawaii doesn't know how to play on the big stage and adapt as they go.

Oh stop. 24-3 is not MURDER.

Mizzou's 38-7 slaughter of Arkansas is MURDER.

Now maybe everyone will shut up about the Big 12 not being in the same league as the SEC.

Well, at halftime it is. I expect it to be 42-10 when the game ends.
