Guyana Offers To Trade Rain Forest For Aid

Fri Dec 21, 2007 12:30 pm

Some controversial issue from the south for a change. I guess this is going to shake a bit our lazy butt politicians and their usual lack of action towards Amazonia. Giving the fact that our side is growing smaller each day for the sake of cattle pasture, illegal exploitation and plain corruption, I can't see this move doing any additional damage beyond politics.

So, welcome back UK. Big grin

I'm all for it. Guyana needs investment and President Bharrat Jagdeo is a good man and is trying to bring the country up after years of corruption, crime, ethnic problems. Some political parties thrived on bringing the country down after the British were booted out . I hope that things get better and they improve infrastructure and living conditions for the people. Guyana is a great country and its people are lovely. They just need the right leaders and good decisions. If they can preserve natural resources whilst bringing the economy to a healthy state then I'm all for it.
