Does Anyone Recognize This Artistic Style, Bird?

Fri Dec 21, 2007 6:09 pm

Ever since early childhood, I have periodically seen artwork done in the same style as the picture on the cover below:

It typically has birds among branches, drawn with thick lines, having as a rule a small bill. Is there any name/period/movement for artwork in this style? I recall seeing a TV report about some Victorian English artist, I think he designed furniture (cabinets etc) in this style. I have forgotten who it was. Anyone know who I am talking about?

To me that looks like something out of "The Prisoner".

Looks Renaissance or something. Interesting.
