I'm not so fond of the rear end, but overall it is a very nice package.

Damn right . . .

Jack and I have one ordered to be delivered in May . . .

The idiots at the local GM dealership were less than impressive . . .we want our Caddy with "X" . . .

I get the usual e-mail: "We have one with almost everything you want . . . and almost in the color you want it . . . and almost with the options . . . '

OK, I reply: What part of "NO EXCEPTIONS" did you fail to comprehend?

We ordered from a dealership in Anchorage. . . .

It's a "play car". Can't pull up to the opera or the Anchorage Marriott in the BAFDT" or a - God forbid" half assed GMC SUV - so a Caddy seemed a nice compromise between a non-US Flagged vehicle and a B-Mer.

I'll send pics when it arrives.

My gosh that is a hot car. Always loved the CTS, hopefully this thing sells.

http://www.thecarconnection.com/

The CT is the latest iteration of the Cadillac "Art & Science" design theme, but Cadillac says this rendition is distinctly new, with all the sheetmetal from the front pillars back being new. While it shares the CTS' wheelbase, the CT Coupe Concept is about four inches shorter than the sedan, and has a faster (more sloped) windshield than does the sedan.

It also shares the instrument panel with the four-door and the console, but otherwise the interior is a newly trimmed piece. Inside, the CT Coupe study wears black leather and Alcantara microfiber trim, with ochre-color inserts and leather seat stitching.

Other features of the concept are 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels; hidden door handles like those on the XLR sportscar; a new lower front fascia with brake vents; LED taillamps; a rear spoiler; and a faceted radio antenna. Inside the four-seat CT Coupe gets carbon-fiber trim, XM and navigation system, and a Bose stereo with a 40GB hard drive.

The 2+2 concept gets its power from a version of Cadillac's 3.6-liter direct-injection V-6, but in a release, the GM brand says that the 2.9-liter turbodiesel headed for European-market CTS sedans will also fit in the coupe. The diesel will make about 250 horsepower in production form. A six-speed manual gearbox is fitted to the concept, as are six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes.

It's a nice-looking car, but what really makes me like it are the commercials starring the absolutely gorgeous, sexy Kate Walsh:

Options: Pick one . . . pick 'em all . . .

Hutchings ChevyGMC here (local ENA) said they "could get one" but they waffled . . . so we went to ANC . . .don't like them any better buty we said that magic word "CASH", and well, they were frothing at the mouth . .

Which is bS, it's a redress of it's forefather - the car Jack and I wanted . . . unfortunately they changed the design. . .

Look at Consumer Reports (Aug-Sep-oct 07), the WORST redesigns of 2008. . .

We looked at the CTS and that's the ticket.

Glad to see a coupe without a 'B'-pillar.
This lends it's self to being a convertible at some point in the near future.
I'd love to see Cadillac do this with their senior most DTS (DeVille) instead of the CTS which is still the entry level Cadillac.

Oh, I hope not! Cut down coupes handle appallingly, because of all the extra re-inforcement needed in the structure. Convertibles are far better designed from scratch, where they don't scuttle shake down the road and body-flex round the corners.

Perhaps but this car can afford the extra re-inforcement needed in the structure as there is an availible 500+ HP (CTS-V) that already comes with this car.
My old 1987 Chrysler LeBaron convertible was designed from scratch as a convertible and it still had those body-flex round the corners issues.
I just wish body-on-frame construction would make a comeback so none of this would be an issue.
I've riden in a 1972 Ford LTD convertible that didn't have that problem.

Ah yes, the 4-letter word that will make a dealer jump through hoops.

I'm assuming you took a test-drive of one off the lot to see how one performed; how was it?

Congrats on your purchase.

A Cadillac CTS Coupe, I wasn't aware of this model coming out.

Small potatoes item here; but I'm a bit surprised, given Caddy's current naming convention, that they didn't call their new coupe (the first 4-seater coupe since the last Eldorado was discontinued several years ago) CTC. I was under the impression that the S designation used on other Caddys stood for sedan.

ahem....sorry, not really, at least not anymore....in todays world of leasing/loan with immediate credit-rating the dealer gets "cash" one way or the other, so basically in anyway. At least this is what I have been told by a lot of car-dealers here in Austria.

Is this not the first ever CTS coupe? I generally don't buy American so I may have missed it if there was one.

As for the car at hand, it's definitely easy on the eyes and Caddy being a solid brand I'm sure it will be a beauty to own. I was a little surprised that the base on the 4-door was only $33K, what's the base on this puppy?
