SafeNet Sentinel... What Is It?

Thu Jan 17, 2008 5:10 am

I'm looking for some advice from some of the more computer savvy members.

Just yesterday I've noticed a file in My Documents called SafeNet Sentinel. I've looked online and tried to figure out what in God's name this thing is, and I can't figure it out.

Does anyone know what it is, and more importantly how I can get rid of it?

I'm running AVG 7.5 as well as SpyBot and I just can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Couldn't have looked very far.

Is it possible you have loaded, perhaps unknowingly, some demo or timelimited software that requires a hardware key to activate?

Cheers

Thanks. I did find that website, but that didn't lead me anywhere, I can't even figure out what the company does. There's a lot of computer terms on there that I am not at all familiar with.

I guess it's possible. I just can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. AVG and SpyBot do nothing and there's no uninstall option in the control panel. There's actually nothing that I can find in the Program Files either.

Works wonders until the next restart.

Neil, try checking whether this thing is set to startup with Windows.

Assuming you use XP:

Start menu --> Run --> type here: MSCONFIG --> select the "Startup" tab and uncheck Safenet Sentinel if you see it in the list. Then restart.
