I remember seeing her first time in a film titled "If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Belgium".
She was a fine actress, and a handsome-looking woman.
Rest in Peace, Ms. Pleshette...and my regards to Tom Poston up there.  pray

A true legend. The scene where Bob Newhart woke up in bed with her to end his 2nd sitcom (the "bad dream") is truly one of the greatest moments in TV history.

She was also in a little-remembered aviation themed film called "Fate is the Hunter." That film also starred Glen Ford as an accident investigator trying to determine what caused a jetliner to attempt an emergency landing shortly after takeoff. The jet tries to land on a beach, bit hits a pier and all aboard are killed except a stewardess - played by Ms. Pleshette.

Mary Tyler Moore followed by Bob Newhart, some great Saturday night TV on CBS.

I never watched, at least not much, that newer Newhart show, but for some reason, I got to see the very end of the last episode, and, not even knowing much about the show, I was laughing hysterically when he "woke up", and she was next to him.

I always enjoyed her in the origian Newhart show. A classy lady. RIP

How sad. Reruns of "Will & Grace" are shown on a local PDX TV station and on Lifetime network. Ms Pleshette plays Karen's mother. She was classic!

My family and I watched that series from day one. When the last season started, my mom said "I bet they end the series by saying it was all a dream." When she rolled over in bed, we all thought it was hilarious and appropriate!

Not much to add - a classy lady by all accounts and a great actress (right up until the end - I loved her as Karen's mom).

Without a doubt...!! CLASSIC moment in TV history. I saw a show on Bob Newhart a few weeks back and I thought they said that scene was filmed live and almost no one had an idea of what was about to happen.

Yep. Followed by the Carol Burnett Show. EVERY Saturday night in the early-mid 70s was this line-up for our family.

RIP, Ms. Pleshette; you were a big part of my childhood.

Edited to add: Fortunately, I bought Season One of the Bob Newhart Show on DVD about 6 months ago, so the good wife and I are paying tribute now.

She and her husband, Tom Poston, were both talented and naturally funny people. Unfortunately, they were also chain-smokers until the end of their respective lives. The distinctive voice that she was known for was a smoker's voice. They both died of lung cancer, probably from the smoking.

Same here. We'd pop popcorn and watch all these shows.

I loved Suzanne Pleshette in just about everything I saw her in.

(BTW, I had no idea you could get old shows on DVD...will have to check it out!)
