I'm a fan of Halifax or St. Johns. Some of my friends are from out east, and visiting there everything is more laid back. As an added bonus, those Newfies know how to drink  Wink

I've had many a good time sitting at a bar along the water in Halifax or St. Johns enjoying some beers. Visiting some friends that went to Dallhousie in Halifax was a great time, not that I remember all that much.

Domestically is my parents house on the river. I love to go boating and it suites me well. My second favorite is the bowling alley.

P.S. My second favorite island is Molokini. For snorkel and scuba purposes.

I've never been there but I have heard the diving there is great. I went diving in Kona and on Kauai. I personally didn't find much of a difference but I'd say Kona was slightly better. What's the diving at Molokini like?

It's absolutely wonderful. But very crowded. Most of the beginner divers stay more toward the center of the crescent. Toward the edge is the best spot. I've see large fish and sharks are common. Although the only thing bad about the edge of the crescent is the current. It's extremely strong there.

lucky enough to answer for two countries on this one...

US:

Crater Lake NP...never get tired of the place even after six visits:

Japan:

Ogasawara islands...as gorgeous as Hawaii but with virtually no people and no cheesy resorts

Not a shock at all. So how is that crap weather going?? We havent had a drop of rain all week. Maybe that incorrect perception that Melbourne has crap weather will finally disappear.

Having said that I love Sydney. Love your beaches and sights and history. Just fix your rubbish pot holed road system and crap coffee (whats with all the Starbucks?!?!)

My favourite place is the Mornington Peninsula in summer time. A real party atmosphere but still family friendly

There are many very nice places, US and Romania as well.

In Romania, it's certainly my grandfather's village, near Dragomirna monastery, look it up if you want.

In the US... I don't know... I like Boston, I like Chicago, I like Maui, I like Meteor Crater... But it's best to travel around.

Only been to Hawaii once. We stayed on Oahu (down on Wakiki) most of the trip and hopped over to the big island for three days to visit Volcanoes National Park and spend a day in Kona. Best part of the island hopping trip was the ride in the Aloha 737-200.

Personally, I prefered Oahu. I know it's more touristy, but it seemed like by 8:00, everything on the Big Island was shut down and it was quiet. Seeing the active volcano was very cool though.
On Oahu, I really enjoyed playing golf and just lounging out on Waikiki Beach. We also visited Pearl Harbor and hiked Diamond Head plus ate at several amazing restaurant. My two favorite golf courses were Koolau, the most difficult golf course in the world, and the Hickam AFB golf course (because it sits right in between 8R and 8L and you can have aircraft taxying and taking off and landing all around you while you play your round.

Anywhere outside of the Northeast USA with the exception of Nebraska, Kansas, or Iowa. Preferably, someplace down south or out west in the desert. Away from the stuck up, secular busy-body, Northeast liberals in the Blue States with their kooky progressive politics! Massachusetts and New York being among the worse!

I did get tired of Pittsburgh tho, the job growth (or complete lack thereof) got to be too much...

My favourite place to go domestically is Melbourne, the atmosphere is always awesome and everything is done so much better than it would be done in NSW.
