The unsettling thing about this is where it occured... Ave. Chapultepec and Monterrey just steps from Paseo Reforma/Zona Rosa/US Embassy.. the heart of one of the most heavily policed and safe areas in DF. Even worse it was at district Police HQ.

Agree, the bomb thing was something done to provoke the police as the police has been "tracking" down some of the most important drug dealers in the city.

Although it happened in Av. Chapultepec and Monterrey, the US Embassy is still far enough from where that happened. The zone where the bomb exploded is not really nice and it's far enough from any tourist attraction that might be around. rRemember Mexico City is big. If someting happened in Reforma, it could well possibly be around 8 or 9 miles away from another Reforma point.

Sad thing what happened. You sometimes think you won't get to see stuff like this happen in your city.

The only fatality is reckoned to have been the guy carrying the bomb. It went off before he was able to put it in its intended destination. Fortunately.
