You mean "friend" people who you don't even know? Sounds kind of sad to me.

Isn't that how you get to know people.... or am I just sad???

I never knew anyone when I registered on this site and I feel I have made some very good friends.... Why is that sad??

Perhaps I was a bit harsh.

Here's my explanation:

If you're from US universities (where this started), usually the only time you will "friend" someone is if you've actually met them. People who request friendships with people who they don't know are generally frowned upon and are laughed at for over-inflating their friend total. One of the cool things about Facebook is that it's not Myspace, where you don't have some 14 year old girl from Kentucky requesting that you become "friends."

I guess you could call me a facebook purist, as someone who joined when UND was added in Dec. '04. However, from the day I joined, I recognized the pure profit that could be made from this venture and I couldn't believe that it wasn't bought out in its infancy (when the only ads you saw were generally from small, local companies).

E-Mail Scanner or mind-sick people are using every opportunity to misuse an E-Mail Address.

Btw. some people at Apple in Cork hated Apple in London with a passion, but that is a different story
