My wife and me will have 3 weeks off by end of April / beginning of May. We won't make a huge journey, but I am looking for destinations for a shorter trip (a week to 10 days). Something quiet, and a bit away from the ordinary, so nothing like Mallorca / Ibiza etc.
I was thinking about Tuscany already, which is probably a safe bet. But now I stumbled over the Isles of Scilly, and I have to admit I have never heard of that - apparently very beautiful - piece of earth before. Now I have seen the website and checked some other references, but I wonder if anybody from this international forum actually was there before (or maybe even lives there?) and would share his / her impressions.
I don't know if it will really be an option for us, as my wife carries a Kazakh passport and would probably need a visa. But I have to admit I am fascinated by what I saw so far. From the pictures, it almost looks like a tropical island, but with a very unique atmosphere. So I'd love to hear some trip reports
