Claude Francois: 30 Years

Tue Mar 11, 2008 7:00 pm

Anyone remembers him?

Alexandrie, Alexandra...

I believe he was born and raised in Egypt. He was famous in his time, in the 60's and 70's. He used to sing with four ladies which were so called "claudettes".
He died on March 11th 1978, he was taking a shower when suddenly there was an electrical failure. He tried to fix it while his feet were still under the water! I think following that day, even though most people knew before, everybody learned a good lesson: never deal with electricity in the water!
Three decades after, the French legendary singer is still alive in some people's hearts. I listen to his songs on the radio and remember them as if it were yesterday.

Claude François still lives on. 30 years already... How time flies...

I liked his very positive attitude and hard working spirit. He was far ahead of his time. Not to forget that the great song "my way" was originally sung by Claude François. I think he took half of the part in the writing too.

He was totally fluent in English. You can hear him on this video with Diana Ross and the Supremes

I like this one too. "Chanson populaire". So much energy! The dancers are amazing!

RIP Claude François. We will not forget you.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

My friends forced me to watch it... I was bored to tears... I'm frankly amazed that people of my age (thirtyish) could be such diehard fans of this guy... But at least I learned to shut my trap when a French or Belgian goes on a Claude François trip... Better not argue with fanatics  Wink
