Ferry From Athens To Santorini And Mykonos

Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:27 am

Hello all,

Going to Europe at the end of May with the girlfriend. We are wanting to visit Athens and Santorini as well as another Greek island. We figured Mykonos would be a good option (feel free to make alternative suggestions). I have looked at a few sights and have had trouble finding a ferry boat service from Santorini to Mykonos. Is there one? I know Santorini gets service from ATH but do they have service to/from any other islands?

If anyone could point out some possible routings I would greatly appreciate it. Roughly we will arrive in ATH from CDG on the 23rd of May spend 2 nights in ATH then take the first ferry (I was thinking direct to Santorini on the 25th) spend a night or two there before moving to the next island, spending a night or two there before heading to FCO. Now it does make sense for us to return to ATH and fly to FCO from there, but we could potentially be interested in a very to Bari if everything works out and take the train from there.

Any help appreciated thanks guys!
Keep the shinny side up!

This will help I'm sure. All sorts of ferry lines listed here, surely one (or more) of them will be the ticket.

There certainly used to be one - back some years ago. I booked it locally through a travel agency in Perissa, turned out to be some leaky tub called the M.V. Megalohari - it took most of the day, and stopped at Paros and Ios on the way. It was a tiny little boat, much smaller than the normal ferries, but it got me there eventually. Many people hurled viciously, as it was September and the meltemi was blowing, but I was OK.

Mykonos is lovely, but very commercialised. The best beaches (non-nude) are on the other side of the island from the town.
