Sat Jul 26, 2008 10:04 am

Dick Wagner of Wagner’s Garden Mart, 6075 N. Green Bay Ave.in Glendale, said shooting the mower didn’t help Walendowski’s odds of getting it repaired.

“Anything not factory recommended would void the warranty,” he said.

Well our landlord in 1940 built a pig sty using drift wood from supercargo sunk in the Irish sea, screws he found somewhere and a crowbar because he did not have a hammer. Then again you should read his wiki entry.

This guy is absolutely correct. It is his lawnmower and property...if he wants to shoot it then let him do so all day long if he wants. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STAY OUT OF MY LIFE AND EVERYONE ELSE'S. I'll do what I want and how I want with my property.

If this guy ends up in jail, I'll seriously be writing letters on his behalf.

Those who tell me what I can and can't do with my own property/belongings are the ones that need to be done away with.

I don't think he is being charged with simply shooting his lawnmower.

Besides the fact of the 2nd amendment and the fact this guy is an idiot. Isn't it a felony to both A discharge a firearm in a public place (aka target practice with his lawnmower in what I would assume is this guys front yard). As well as what seems to be illegal modifications of a firearm.

He also could have seriously hurt ot killed anyone in the immediate vicinity, he can do whatever he wants to his property but he can't use it to hurt someone. By this logicif he gets off then his attorney should be able to technically prove that drunk driving should only be a crime if you hurt someone, I mean you are operating your property (in the case of your car) how you feel like.

I would say a majority of his potential sentence is due to the possession of an illegal weapon, a sawed-off shotgun. Then to fire it openly at his lawn mower, shows that you have an incompetent drunk in possession of a dangerous and illegal weapon.

Six years is steep, maybe they can work with him on his alcoholism and anger as an alternative.

Some people look relatively youthful and vigorous at age 57. This guy isn't one of them:

I don't have a problem with him shooting the lawn mower, ridiculous though it may be, but for him to be drunk while using a firearm is reckless and irresponsible. Just like cars and alcohol have no place together, nor do guns and alcohol.

Not to mention the fact that the weapon was illegal.

I'd have to agree with Mir (reply 9) on this one...
