Was there any voting in your part of the USA today? There was here in Michigan.
I drove the tractor over to the polling place. Yes I do live in the city, but that is just the hoosier I am. Not much was going on. I was there at 2pm EDT and I made 40 voters in my prescient so far. I would say there are 800 voters in my prescient.
It was the local primary and there wasn't much on the republican side of the ticket. A lot of offices didn't even have a candidate running. The democrat side was very busy. Carl Levin was the only democrats on the ticket for senator and John Dingell congressman. I like John Dingell, he is a pro gun man, just like his dad. He is the kind of democrat we need more of. If they were all like him I would vote for democrats more often.
The big item on the ballot is the tax for the zoo. It would cost the average home owner $10 a year in the tri-county area. I guess that means that I will owe about $4 a year. The zoo was once funded by the city of Detroit, which is odd because it is not in Detroit and not even in Wayne county. The city threatened to close the zoo last year because it couldn't fund it. Now the zoo needs money because it is no longer getting funds from the city (they need to take the dead beat mayor's name off the zoo's water tower). I usually don't like new taxes, but I voted for the zoo because an area as crappy as the D needs some bright spots and I like to visit the zoo myself.
