Co-author of "100 Things to Do Before You Die" dies at age 47

LOS ANGELES - Dave Freeman, co-author of "100 Things to Do Before You Die," a travel guide and ode to odd adventures that inspired readers and imitators, died after hitting his head in a fall at his home. He was 47.

This life is a short journey," the book says. "How can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?"

Freeman's relatives said he visited about half the places on his list before he died, and either he or Teplica had been to nearly all of them.

Wouldn't you be annoyed if he had left some things to do during retirement. Age 47 very young.

kind if crazy that an accident that can happen to anyone at anytime at a young age after he wrote a seminal book essentially saying to live your life every day like it may be your last.

Actually I'd say that the mode of his unfortunate demise made his point most succinctly.

Dave was actually an acquaintance of mine and a friend of my girlfriend. We were all up at a wedding in Carmel together just a month and a half ago. Amazingly bright guy with a wide range of knowledge. He was truly a wonderful guy and died way too soon. There are a whole lot of people who will miss him.
