Choosing An Air Purifier.

Sun Oct 12, 2008 11:08 am

I want to buy an air purifier, and there are lots of choices, options, technologies (e.g. ionisers, general particle filters) and so-on.

I moved into a small room about 3 weeks ago (University) for my accommodation, and my room gets unbelievably stuffy, (the difference in air quality when the door is opened is extremely noticeable). Opening the window and door cools the room down, however, it does not get rid of the dusty, stuffy scent.

So, is there a purifier thats better suited to my requirements than others given what I have said, and which ones are generally more effective than others? I have read things online suggesting that the ionic breeze does not do what it claims, is this true?

I would buy one that has the following traits:

the filters or cleaning it is cheap (you shouldn't have buy filters that cost cheap
the purifier can handle the size of your room or area that its going to be in

Also check out out this site:

Hope that helps and good thread as I am looking into buying one too.
