Ferrari Superbike Prototype

Tue Oct 21, 2008 9:07 am

Have a look at this thing, I hope Ferrari are not planning to bring F1's nonsense to bike racing!

Wow, looks like something from the future.

Actually like it, but I'm sure there are going to many people who will hate it.

Great shapes, aesthetics .... I would go for more subtle and understated rims ...
I reckon that is more the work of a amateur designer with some time on it's hand .. as you can see with the position of the Ferrari batch and technical details (suspension, Air outflow, ...)

It is not Ferrari but some random guy who dreamed it up as a "if Ferrari built a bike"...but having said that i like the way it looks....very unique...

It looks like something from Tron.
Or should have been in Speed Racer (not that anyone saw it...).

I don't like it...It looks like a Daschund wearing a red Ferrari Dog Sweater, with Wheels instead of Legs....(the Handlebars could be the dog's ears if you like)..

All Buell bikes have such brakes. I had a Honda CBX550 back in the 80s that had similar brakes but they were enclosed so you couldn't see that the caliper gripped on the inside.

It almost reminds me of the Dodge Tomahawk, except more streamlined...Basically the same idea though -- big engine on a bike.

He neglected to give the bike any travel in the suspension, especially in the front.

Aerodynamically, it seems to have been designed without the rider in mind. Virtually every other fast motorcycle has cutouts into which the rider can tuck his/her legs to get them out of the relative wind. Not to mention some sort of means to deflect the oncoming wind up and over the front of the rider.

This Ferrari concept appears to have been designed for optimum aerodynamic efficiency...so long as there's no rider on board.

That, and it's absolutely hideous.  yes

Agreed, they should scrap the idea and license the engine to company that knows how to design motorcycles, like Moto Guzzi, or that other Italian company whose name I can never remember...  Smile

A design like this will take some time to get used to, if in fact it will look like this. Having said that, it looks IMO much nicer in Black.
So shall we expect to see Ferrari in bike racing any time soon? From a marketing point, V. Rossi in a Ferrari would be pretty interesting  Wink

it's as ugly as sin if you ask me (and i know no one is!), but compared to the MV Agusta F4, the Ducati 996 and even a bog standard R1, this bike is like the huntchback of Notra Dame crossed with Frankenstein!!! Aerodynamics might be there, but i bet the rider would have no spine left and in this case i think there's definately shame to be felt from a vespa slipping down the inside to corner tighter than that fat lump can (supposition) lol

Cheers

Stu

ps, bring back the RC45, what a machine that was....no mistaking that sound as it wound up and whined!
In the dark you can't see ugly, but you can feel fat

How do you lane split on that thing? You might as well be in a car.
