Self-Gloss Thread: The $45,000 Dollar Paper

Tue Oct 21, 2008 6:28 pm

Get out your buffers, because I'm ready to gloss.

October 5th I received my Commercial Multi-engine Land rating while in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I call it the $45,000 dollar piece of paper because I can do absolutely NOTHING with it until I get more time.

Well, onto the CFI!

BS
BA
MA

For an average of roughly $31,250 sheet of paper/plastic.

LOL I call it the "piece of paper" because of course I don't have the flight time for any commercial job. BS degree will be finished this semester though.

I don't know where, and according to some other guys I got a bargain  Wow!

For ERAU, I think I'd tend to agree based on my impression. So you got Multi-Comm, which I recently was surprised to find out does not qualify you to exercise commercial privileges in a single engine airplane.

Though since you have commercial now, some skydiving places etc can be a possibility, or so I hear. But yeah CFI is probably the best route, the one hopefully I'll be on by (fingers crossed) December sometime when I get my single-engine comm hopefully.

Not quite true. You can use it to pick up chicks...  duck

Seriously though, congrats!! I really envy you as I haven't touched the controls of an aircraft since May 2006. Had I been able to continue my flight training, I'd probably be furloughed by now.  eyebrow

I go to an extended campus location for ERAU and fly at the local FBO. I should have the single Comm and CFI by the second week of December.

Okay now it makes sense.

Nice, I might put the multi off until I get working somewhere. And should the place you work for have a multi a/c, you can always get a good deal. At the same time, since I one is 'in the flow' so to speak if I have enough $$ to spare towards the end, I might go ahead and get that too. Good luck.
