Daniel Craig to provide a muscular reinterpretation of Doctor Who.

"After playing another British icon who keeps reincarnating himself and playing with gadgets I feel eminently qualified for the role of the Doctor."

When asked if his time machine would continue to be a TARDIS Craig replied "No, Omega".

Allrite, are you serious about Craig? Seems to me an A-list film actor wouldn't do TV. Dr. Who will have to abandon its original Timelord mantra if it keeps having to regenerate the Doctor. By my count, Tennant is the 10th actor in the series, including the 1996 TV movie, to play him and I recall the original series stated Timelords could have only 12 incarnations and die for good after that. The renegade Timelord, the Master, was able to cheat and defy that with a convoluted scheme but it's against the Bible of the show for them to do it. Only 2 more actors can now play the Doctor before they must come up with a novel twist on how they can keep him going. Can't wait to see how they write themselves out of that corner.

dont forget that the Doctor now has a daughter who seems to be capable of at least a partial regeneration , so Jenny presumably has 11 or so incarnations up her sleeve if necessary .

They should bring back Captain Jack!
Who was the last actor to play the Doctor (just before Tennant)?

Christopher Eccestone; he wasn't bad, but Tennant was superb. I was never a big Dr. Who fan, but always enjoyed watching him in the role.

How about Anthony Head as his successor? (He's in everything else nowadays!) ... maybe with Sarah Michelle Gellar as his sidekick - turn the tables a bit!

Who else could they have?

Why can't Dr. Who be a woman?

It's entirely possible that could happen. Every Dr. Who brought a new perspective that made you think and ponder about the story line. Having a woman Dr. Who would provide an interesting perspective.

Me, serious? Never!  biggrin  You've got to admit though that James Bond is likely to be a timelord, though his TARDIS is probably an Aston-Martin.  Smile

How about Russell Brand, seeing as he's out of a job now? (Never watched/heard him before though).  Smile

Maybe pick one from Curse of the Fatal Death!
