I hated microeconomics. I thought that macro was really interesting; micro kicked my butt.

What do you enjoy about it that would make you want to take so much of it?

I'm on the home stretch now, finally, and I'm enrolled in the journalism programme at my university. So, I've recently completed "Intro to Journalism", and right now it's a course called "The Language of Journalism" which is basically what it sounds like, as well a two week text editing course. Later this semester, I have something called "Journalistic Processes; analytical perspectives".

Best of all, I had the last proper test of my university days a month or so ago. So even though I still have over a year of studies left, no more tests (or papers for that matter)! I'll be graded on performance in actual practical stuff, no more cramming or buying useless books (we still have required reading, but these books are actually useful)! Woooz!

Cheers
Mats

Alright just because I'm bored and this is my final semester at ERAU I'll splurge a bit more than the others here and copy paste from the course catalog.

Weather Information Systems
An introduction to the various states of weather-sensing
equipment modernization and the systems that
deliver weather information to various users. The
development of various sensing devices are explored
and the current technology explained.

Personal Security and Defensive Skills
Basic instruction in personal security through historical,
technological, and practical education and
training in the art and science of personal security
awareness and defense for the professional. A comprehensive
education on firearms history, laws,
mechanics and ballistics, technology, current events,
cultural philosophies and psychology, and very large
emphasis on safety from varying perspectives. This is
a two-phase course in which phase one is mandatory
and phase two is an optional lab.

Flight Technique Analysis
Application of aerodynamic principles to the development
of optimal pilot techniques and procedures.
Uniform procedures applicable to all airplanes and
special procedures for large, high-performance, and
transport aircraft are analyzed, including principles
of flight deck resource management.

Flight Instructor Ground Course
The student will receive training in the maneuvers
and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the
standards contained in the Flight Instructor practical
test standards, Single-Engine Land with Instrument
Airplane rating. Additionally, the student will
receive training in cockpit resource management
and safe flying practices. Associated ground instruction
will include completion of the Fundamentals of
Instruction, the Flight Instructor Airplane, and the
Flight Instructor Instrument written test.

Flight Instructor Rating
The student will receive training in the maneuvers
and procedures necessary for him/her to meet the
standards contained in the Flight Instructor practical
test standards, Single-Engine Land with Instrument
Airplane rating. Additionally, the student will
receive training in cockpit resource management
and safe flying practices. Associated ground instruction
will include completion of the Fundamentals of

Not an easy last semester as I was hoping but it will all be over within a month, or so I hope.

Fluid Dynamics I.

I'm at Purdue University studying Aeronautical Engineering

this semester:
AAE 352: Structures Analysis 1
AAE 333: Fluid Mechanics (also includes a lab)
AAE 204L: Mechanics of Materials Lab
AAE 301: Signals and Systems (basically another math class with Laplace transforms, and a bunch of other bogus math)
MA 304: Differential Equations 2

next semester:
AAE 334: Aerodynamics
AAE 352L: Structures Analysis 1 Lab
AAE 364: Control Systems Analysis (basically another math class)
AAE 372: Jet Prop Powerplants
MA 266: Ordinary Differential Equations (because I got a stupid D at summer school at UCLA, they wouldn't transfer the credit to Purdue, so I gotta take it again). booooo.

I need to sign up for another class so I have 16 credits, but I was going to take Flight testing, which sounded so cool, but unfortunately the time conflicts with 364. The course description for flight testing is:
https://engineering.purdue.edu/AAE/Academics/Courses/Descriptions/AAE490A
It sounds really cool so I guess I'll take it next spring since I have another year here *sigh* Victory Lab here I come!

I am a graduate student pursuing a MA in geography and planning. In fact, I just had my planning design class tonight. I am working on our big project:

developing a few parcels in West Brandywine Twp, PA (It's in central Chester County near the Philly suburb of Downingtown, PA) We have to read the zoning, land use, and comprehensive plans to come up with a design for that parcel that complies with those ordinances... fun stuff!

Oh, and I will likely use GIS for that project as well!  Smile

I get to design a trail extension in another part of the county for my Suburbanization course. My professor, who used to be on the Chester County Planning Commission, said that if our work output was good enough, our project would be presented to the township as a proposal!

This Semester at ERAU:

Domestic and International Navigation
Not a bad class, though the first half of it was taken up with a lot of repetitive stuff that I already knew.

Principles of Management
Started off well, but the class has really started to drag of late. Nice stuff to know, but still hard to stay awake.

Electronic Flight Management Systems
Would be very useful if the professor were competent. But they aren't, so it isn't.

Jet Transport Systems
Pretty much what it says - systems on a jet transport. Why we're learning the systems of the 747 when none of us will probably end up flying one is something I don't quite understand, but other than that it's ok.

Flight Technique Analysis
A class taught by far-and-away the best professor I've had at the school - the first class I've had in two-plus years where thinking is actually encouraged. Can't say enough good things about it.

VFR Tower
Fun class, but it's pretty much all stuff I knew already, so it's more of a fun way to pass time.

Next semester:

CRM (with the Flight Technique professor, so I'm looking foward to it)
Airline Operations
Radar III (basically, learning how to be a center controller)
Advanced Tower

and perhaps: Music Analysis (just for the heck of it)
