Obama & Biden's Senate Seat To Stay DEM

Mon Nov 10, 2008 1:52 pm

The governors of Delaware and Illinois are both Democrat so is safe to assume Obama and Biden's seat will stay Democrat.

The last time 2 seats had to be filled after an presidential election I believe was in December 1960 when Pres-elect Kennedy and VP-elect Johnson's senate seats were filled though I don't know if the replacements were both Democrat.

Rumor has it John Kerry is hoping for Sec. of State so there's another seat to be filled. Then there's Ted Kennedy's uncertain health prognosis, hopefully he will survive, but still another potential seat to fill.

There have been talks here in DE that Gov. Minner will appoint Biden's son Beau to his fathers seat. That would be interesting, maybe the start of the Biden legacy in the government.

Yes, from the rumors I have read and heard, Obama would like to see Valerie Jarrett, who is a co-chair of his transition team get appointed to his seat.

As for Biden, many think his son Beau is on the top of the list as he is the AG of Delaware; but he is currently on Deployment with the Delaware National Gaurd.
