Mozilla Firefox & Temp. Internet Files

Thu Nov 13, 2008 4:30 am

Hello guys and girls.

I have a question that I am completely sure someone will know how to answer.

I have traditionally used Microsoft Internet Explorer as my default browser. I know that, in order to delete from my computer cookies and temporary internet files, all I need to do is close Explorer, right-click on the Explorer icon, go to Properties and click on the button that lets you delete all cookies, stored URL's and temporary internet files. Easy!

However, I am now using Mozilla and I have absolutely no idea how to delete the temporary internet files and cookies. Could someone please let me know how to do this?

Thanks a lot!!!

Press CTRL+SHIFT+DELETE, select all options and then except maybe saved passwords and then click Clear Private Data Now.

Hit CTRL-SHIFT-DEL, choose what you want to get rid of, and you're free to continue.... well..... whatever you were doing to ask the question in the first place  Wink

LOL. Not what you think Benjamin. I just periodically clean my Microsoft Internet Explorer's cache and I want to do the same with Mozilla... somewhat obsessive, I know.

If you are on a fast connection, you might want to consider to disable cacheing of files by your browser at all.
Differences in the speed in that websites display will depend on the contents, though.

All in all, it is a wise thing to clear these files periodically.

Thanks Holger, that may be a good idea. How is that done by the way? I am not very familiar with these advanced features in computers and software  Smile

Hola Eduardo !

Disable cache in Mozilla Firefox:

Menupath: Tools --> Options
Symbol: Advanced
Tab-strip: Networking
Set value for "Offline storage" to "0"
