Advice Needed: Public Policy Internships

Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:33 pm

Hello A.Nutters:

I am looking to find an internship in the Public Policy area, something in Michigan, if possible for next summer as I am starting my Senior year in college in a couple of weeks.

I would like it to deal with national issues, so I have thought about sending an internship application to Sen. Debbie Stabenow (her office is right across the street from my apartment), but outside of that, I am lost.

is there a database that one can included parameters like area, location that I could look at or are there any fellow people from around Lansing or East Lansing that have any bright ideas?

Do you have a PIRG (Public Interest Research Group) in your area? My nephew worked for them out of Massachusetts last summer and I'm pretty sure he said he supervised interns.

Maybe do grunt work for a political science professor at a local university?

Good luck!
