Caroline Kennedy To Replace Hillary In Senate?

Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:27 pm

Rumors abound and there is not yet one hard story on it but it seems as if Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is becoming the dark horse favorite to fill Senator Clintons term. So the Kennedy legacy in the Senate may not yet be over. The linked article discusses different people that seem to be in the running and as I said, Kenndy's nomination is only a rumor at this point.

I've been hearing Andrew Cuomo or current New York Governor David Paterson, I don't think Paterson is going to run ( he replaced Spitzer) for Governor. Andrew Cuomo most likely is going to run for Governor, and supposedly Rudy Giulianni will challenge him for the job.

A Cuomo vs Giulianni match up would be wierd, in 1994 Rudy Giulianni (Republican) backed Mario Cuomo (Democrat) for Governor against fellow Republican George Pataki (Pataki won).

That U.N. Ambassadorship rumor has been killed. Dr. Susan Rice will be nominated for the post. And a very good choice in my opinion - Dr. Rice is a very smart and experienced diplomat.

"ABC News is reporting that Susan Rice will be named U.N. Ambassador by President-Elect Obama.

ABC News has learned that Dr. Susan Rice has emerged as the leading candidate to be President-elect Obama's nominee as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Neither Dr. Rice nor the Obama Transition Team had any comment. The usual caveats apply -- nothing is yet a done deal, nothing has been officially offered or accepted, national security team announcements will not come until after Thanksgiving.

Dr. Rice, a member of President Bill Clinton's National Security Council and a former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, was involved in President-elect Obama's campaign as a senior foreign policy adviser."
