The webisodes were good, hmm..saw a side of Gaieta (sp?) that I never saw coming. And what is he going to do....have a talk with the old man and then what?

As usual..I'll have to get the show off the internet, as we are still on season 2 (!) on SciFi here  banghead

Found a link to the catalog of items up for auction:
http://www.battlestarprops.com/battl...on-catalog-available-for-download/

Also great to see Caprica has been approved for a 20 episode season 1, which will begin filming this year and will air in 2010, even though it won't feature the current actors.

BTW...would love it if this beauty was up for auction Big grin

Could one of you please fill me on BG? We don't get much over here and our internet has very low bandwidth and is intermittent!

What season (#) is the final season?

I'm assuming "Caprica" is a spin-off, does it take place before or after the Cylon attack?

Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Quoting Fridgmus (Reply 2):

What season (#) is the final season?

This is currently the final season - 4.5 (BSG seasons are split into two, with 4.0 being screened early last year).

There will be up to two TV films after the end of the series.

Quoting Fridgmus (Reply 2):

'Caprica' details how the Cylons came to be and is set 50 years before the current series.

By 'fill you in', do you want a run down on where the series is currently?

From what I have heard, neither movie needs the props or sets already constructed - the one currently most known about is called 'The Plan' and covers what is essentially the mini series and first season of BSG from the Cylons point of view.

I've only seen AFN on the TV's in the Dining Facility and have not seen BG on them and I've asked the few guys I know with AFN pumped into their trailers if they've seen it and they've said no. But that doesn't mean its not there. I haven't seen a program guide, had a hard time just getting on the AFN website! And like I said, our bandwidth is small & intermittent and I've had problems just trying to get to A.net! We're building our camp up and things will improve in the future.

We usually have to wait until they come out on DVD and then we order them from Amazon!

I checked the AFRTS website. BSG episodes 13-18 air 26 Jan, Feb 2 9 16 23, and Mar 2 at 11PM Baghdad time on AFN Spectrum.

So, who's the final cylon? I'd be thinking the President for a long time, but now I'm not so sure..

Well lets see, pretty much has to be female...

So Roslyn... enh i don't think so, too obvious
Starbuck too obvious, though she was away when the "burst" occured, so maybe she just didn't "unlock"?
Dualla, maybe
Racetrack, maybe
Someone from Baltar's little band maybe?

But ponder this but what if they are already "dead" and the other cylons are hiding the resurrected one?

2 VERY viable options spring to mind then:

Ellen Tigh
Admiral Cain

Who knows... we shall see!

Hmm.... but don't you think the final cylon should be a major character? Otherwise it's going to be an anticlimax. I still think it could be Starbuck or the President.

It can't be Roslyn as she had the Cylon transfusion - wouldn't have needed it if she was it. My bet is on Kara as any one else would be anticlimactic! I really wished Dualla had a bigger role in the series, but no point promoting her in towards the end of the series.

Perhaps Moo is the Final One as he always has the inside scoop!  Wink

They don't have much, just the basic necessities, munchies, a few DVD's etc. Like I said, we are still building the camp up. The AAFES Manager said a new, larger building is in the future, but she had no idea when that would happen.

We already know they can - Tigh got Six pregnant, didnt he...

D'anna did say that only four were currently in the fleet, and four were revealed. However, this could mean that the fifth was aboard the Cylon ship, or it could be a bluff.

Remember, D'anna said she would reveal the four she knew to be among the Colonial fleet, but she never had to - the four revealed themselves. She could have been bluffing in order to force them to do that.

Oops..yeah...forgot about that.

Quoting Moo (Reply 15):
Remember, D'anna said she would reveal the four she knew to be among the Colonial fleet, but she never had to - the four revealed themselves.

Yeah, but it wasn't easy. Tigh had to be put in a launch tube before the others were revealed. Except of course for Tory; Anders and Tyrol were pretty hesitant.

But do we know the final cylon has to be a female?

Going back to the 'last supper' photo, Ron Moore has said that the fifth cylon is not in that photo. So we can eliminate Laura Roslin, Lee Adama, Baltar, Starbuck, Helo or Bill Adama.
http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune....nt_tv/2008/04/ron-moore-on-ba.html

Also, the final cylon had already been decided in the first season, so it can't be any new characters introduced after season 1. But one thing is sure - who the fifth cylon is, is more important to the storyline than who the final four were.
What can be more shocking than revealing Tigh or Tyrol as a cylon?
So if the final cylon is a female, then it has to be either Dualla or Cally. I'm betting its Cally. They better have a good explanation for Starbuck though, the show has been awesome so far, hope they don't ruin it with a stupid explanation for Starbuck's miraculous return.

Ok my mind is having some fun with this... and can't you just see the cliffhanger, D'Anna brings Tigh and gang to meet the 5th, opens the door and Ellen Tigh just says "hi Saul"... Jaw drop from the group (especially Saul Tigh) and cut to commercial?

Ok so I'm over thinking maybe, but thats just the kind of scene im expecting... or she brings in Adama and it's Caine... or Tyrol and it's Cally...but i honestly doubt it's Cally cause that would mean there is only 1 hybrid... and somewhere i could swear the producers said there were now TWO confirmed hybrids.

I've been trying to figure out who else it could be... and come up blank.

What to watch next??

Stargate - gone
Stargate Atlantis - last episode
Battlestar Galactica - last season

So what's left to watch for ScFi nuts who aren't into the fantasy shows (Sanctuary is IMHO poor despite Amanda Tapping). UK Tv seems to be into fantasy overload at the moment (Merlin/Demons etc)

Endless repeats of Startrek?

A new series of Firefly? (I wish!!!)

Gentlemen, it's time to end our discussions and place your bets for tomorrow's opener - who is the Final One?

I'll bet 20 A$ (a.net $) on Adm Adama.

betting closes at 8 pm ET tomorrow - winner is he who wins the most A$.

OK, so BSG continues to mess with our minds again.

1. Looks like we (earthlings) are all Cylons. The joke's on us.
2. The final five seem to be able to resurrect too - different mechanism?
3. I wish they'd airlock Roslyn and be done with it.
4. What an exceptional cast - the acting is just amazing.
5. So the show is set about 2000 years from now.
6. Maybe it was Intelligent Design all along  Wink after all Darwin was a Cylon too!

She could be one of the Lords of Kobol (in human form...is that even possible?). And I STILL DON'T GET how the frack Baltar survived the nuclear explosion on Caprica (mini-series). C'mon..six couldn't have protected him by shielding him with her body...there's something going on there.

Fits into my favourite theory perfectly - everyone is a cylon, just from a different cycle of 'this has all happened before, and will happen again'.

The 'five' are the 'cylons' from the last cycle, everyone else are descendents from the humans and hybrids.

So if the current cylons can resurrect, why not previous generations?

Nice to see my theory is correct so far.

Why are we so sure Ellen is the fifth?

If she were to reappear that would be proof positive, meanwhile Tigh may just have had a shot too many....

Fits into my favourite theory perfectly - everyone is a cylon, just from a different cycle of 'this has all happened before, and will happen again'.

So would Starbuck be the first Cylon of the next cycle?

No, Starbuck is a descendent of the last cycle - or in other words, I don't think we have seen the last of Dualla...........

Or the 2 Vipers... even if she IS as you say, explain the Viper?

Good point. Good grief, I hope they don't introduce any "parallel universe" crap into the story line....

Indeed – somebody is clearly messing with people (and cylons) there. The writers better not take the metaphysical cop-out on that. The emotional grandstanding gets a bit grating on its own at some point.

Basically the base ship hybrids could be yanking everyone around. That could explain Starbuck's ship (including the (im)perfections of the copy) and a few other things.

Maybe they've got some cruel idea of a forced evolutionary cycle in their seemingly confused minds. Putting the idea of a mothership to a whole new level...  mischievous

Parallel universes are not allowed in TV land - not the done thing!  Smile

There seems to be a guiding Presence now that is making things happen according to a Plan. Based on the information us mere mortals have been presented, we may finally get to know more about the Lords of Kobol this time around.

At least extremely unwise since it's usually a declaration of bankruptcy on the part of the writing staff...!  mischievous

Although all the religious mumbo-jumbo in BG is veering dangerously close to the same thing by now. They really need to get some storyline meat on the table soon to avoid wrapping it all up as a pathetically collapsed soufflé.

Last night was the first time I had ever watched a full episode of the show, but I am familiar with the basic plot and storyline (Wikipedia is awesome--full recaps of every episode). The episode reminded me of the season finale a year ago of Lost, where Jack, after successfully getting off the island, said "we have to go back." In both series, the storyline had been building up to an intended ending (BSG, settling on earth; Lost, getting off the island), but revealed the intended ending to be undesirable, effectively shifting the entire focus of the series. The only difference is that while Lost has two or more seasons left to explain this shift, BSG only has 9 episodes. The writers better have something in mind
