Colts Tony Dungy Retires...

Mon Jan 12, 2009 4:28 pm

It's on Sports Center right now. Colts' Head Coach Dungy is retiring...

He's a great guy, and I wish him a happy retirement!

Adios, mate! Here's to your accomplishments with the Colts...  champagne

I remember him playing for the Steelers back in the day. Good guy.

...But it was time.

Heres to 2 Super Bowl Championships for Mr. Dungy! (I'll give him credit for the Bucs win in '01) Good luck in whatever you choose to do Tony!

He was an excellent coach and from what I've always read and heard from various former players he is honestly a nice person, I know he's probably not been the same since the death of his son. Even though he's been coach in Indianapolis his family and his main residence remained in the Tampa Bay area, now he can spend more time with them and enjoy some Florida sunshine.

He is definitely one of the gentleman of the NFL. He embodies everything as a coach you would want in a player and a person. I understand he is planning on working with youth groups in the future .. I sure hope he can pass along his ethics to future generations.

Mr Dungy , its has been a pleasure watching you and your teams over the years .. good luck. !

Make that 3. He was a linebacker on the 1978 Steelers:

I didn't realize he played for the Steelers until I saw some blip about him in the week leading up to the 2005-06 divisional playoff game between the Steelers and Colts...

Either way, 2 or 3, he's a winner on and off the field and I wish there were more people out there like him. Good luck Tony.

I met him on a flight to Florida once, just for a second, very nice person. He's the kind of person you could trust. I (living in the IND area) wish he would stay.
