Labor Sec Vote On Hold After Tax Problem Surfaces

Fri Feb 06, 2009 7:22 pm

The defense will be "it was her husband". So it was, but considering the tax was not paid for 16 years and only paid up a couple of days ago...........

"Solis’s accountant was unaware of the tax liens until about two days ago, White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said. The liens had been outstanding for as long as 16 years against an auto repair business belonging to Solis’s husband, Sam Sayyad.

“He believes he paid the taxes,” Vietor said. “He believes they are only county fees and assessments, and he is planning to appeal.”

The couple filed their taxes jointly. The liens were on a business for which Sayyad was the sole proprietor."

Here's an idea, how about we pay for the stimulus package by just making all the democrats that evidently owe back taxes pay up?

Even more of a question is, what was in the questioner that the Obama Transition team sent out? How is it that tax problems from 4 different people got overlooked? Right now it's looking like President Obama should have picked all GOP members for his cabinet. Not a single one of the three so far has had even a minor problem surface.

I love the "it was her husband" excuse. Then tell me why Team Obama wanted so much information about Bill Clinton in regards to his foudation and library in order for his wife to be considered for Sec of State? More of the Same We Can Believe In!
