Facebook Question

Mon Feb 23, 2009 1:15 am

Does anyone know how to make it so people cannot tag pictures of you?

If one tags you just remove it? That is how I do it but I do not know how you can block it.  Smile

That's probably best. Just de-tag yourself and hope the person takes the hint...

if you untag yourself, you can't be retagged in the same photo again

if you go onto your privacy settings you can change it so only you can see photos you're tagged in. it means you can still be tagged in photos but if someone went onto "photos of you" from your profile nothing would show up.

other that you're probably best just de-tagging them.

Ah  Smile I thought there was a way of suspending your profile or something... maybe I'm imagining things though!

Facebook is a good thing to give up... and not just for Lent... but I can't bring myself to do it!

Doesn't work, unless the photo is yours. If someone else took the photo and tagged you, even if you only change your privacy as per above, the person who took the photo and whoever else he/she allows to see their photos will see that photo. The best bet is just to remove your tag, so that people who don't know you will not be able to identify you from the picture.

I wish FB would come up with an option of rescinding a friend's request. Yep..it was one of those drunken nights  Smile

You can. Click on the profile of any friend you want to remove from your list, and on the bottom left hand corner of their profile page, there should be a "Remove Friend" link.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant "undoing" a friends request, not friends who have already accepted. I sent a request to someone and that person hasn't accepted or rejected the request .. just want the that request to be deleted!

Now I understand. As far as I know that can't be done. However, if they accept you, just remove them again.

Me too, especially since I don't check the site regularly. I wish it was like MySpace where you can set it up so that you have to approve the tag first.

I'm really getting annoyed with facebook and how it tells the world everything and every action that is made. "so and so did this, so and so did that, so and so is this, so and so is that." What's next? It going to start telling everyone when you close the web browser? Or, when you take a crap? Ugh..

I gave up MySpace last year for Lent. I have since been cured. Don't use it nearly as much as I used to. Check casually once a day or so where before, I checked and refreshed the browser every few minutes or so.
