I love a good hearty steak, but I must say it's pasta of almost any kind, especially with alfredo sauce.

Vegetables  Smile Specifically; asparagus, red beets, carrots, Brussels sprouts, carrots, peas, potatoes, broccoli. Also; Boca burgers, vegetable lasagna, and pasta. I also have a weakness for Häagen-Dazs chocolate, vanilla, and coffee ice cream. Big grin Ritters Sport dark chocolate and Dove dark chocolate is also good.  yummy

I've been wondering about something and I thought I'd ask it here since this is a topic about food. How did breakfast food (eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, French Toast, waffles, fried potatoes, etc...) become breakfast food? Why is it "unorthodox" to have mashed potatoes, peas, and a meat (or Boca Burger  Wink ) for breakfast and waffles with maple syrup (or molasses) for dinner? On an aviation related note, would it be possible to order, in advance, a breakfast meal on an afternoon/evening flight or a lunch/dinner meal on a morning flight? I imagine one would get a strange reaction for trying to do so. Still, I'm just wondering.

Good Day  Smile

It used to be Mexican food by far, however as I get older (I'm 33) my tolerance for spicy food has diminished. Not only that but after I eat Mexican food I need a prilosec or pepside.

Now I would say it's :

British: Hard to beat a bacon and mushroom sandwich, but a nice roasted Welsh Lamb can do it.
Asian: Hainanese Chicken RIce or Bee Hoon Goreng
South Asian: Lamb Dhansak, chapatis, fresh green salad and a lassi from Al-Frash down the road please.
American: Hard to beat a big ass steak with a baked potato and a spinach salad
French: So much good food, so hard to decided - just give me the run of the fabulous cheese
Italian: a nice plate of Cacio e pepe from somewhere in Rome and some gelato, please.
Iberia: fresh fish, sardines in particular are a favourite.

Did you want some Chili with your cheese?  Wink

My favourite would have to be Mexican. Unfortunately, there is somewhat of a dearth of good good Mexican restaurants in the UK. Hence, I tend to "overdose" when I am in SoCal.

After that, it would be:
A really good "roastie" with good quality beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potato and a good gravy.
Tandoori Chicken
Greek food - pasticcio, feta, houmous.

Also, something very simple, like a tomato and onion salad. Made with proper tomato (not the crap you get in the UK that taste of nothing), some good olive oil and vinegar, a little salt and pepper, and plenty of bread to mop up the dressing.  yummy

To start:
Smoked salmon
Main:
Medium rare tenderloin steak au poivre, baked potato with sour cream and chives, asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, with a lovely Pinot Noir or St. Emilion.
Dessert:
Either tiramisu or Creme Brulee (like the make at the Logan Hilton...extra browned on top and served with fresh berries)
And a huge honking great cappuccino.

Never had that but it sounds great.

It really is. It's not "boiled" together as described, it's essentially left over roast potatoes, carrots, peas, onions etc etc, born of the British "traditional Sunday Roast", then mashed together with potatoes to form a pattie and then shallow-fried until golden brown.

As for my favourites, I find it rather difficult to list. But if I were to choose, a Spaghetti Bolognese wins everytime. It'll probably be easier to list the foods I dislike!
