My Laptop Doesn't Seem To Like My Airport Express

Tue Apr 07, 2009 2:38 am

I can connect to it without a problem then it gets dropped. Then picked up. Then dropped. Quite an annoying cycle. So I connect to my neighbor's unsecured network. The signal strength is a bit slow but I can still stream video.

What could possibly be my problem? My girlfriend's laptop has no problems connecting and staying connected.

Try firmware. Or a driver update for your laptop's WiFi adapter.

I'd also vote on trying to update your wireless card drivers. I had problems with mine which caused my old laptop to crash and restart in a cycle. I had to disable the card to eventually install the update from a USB.

Nightmare.

You might also want to check with your Airport Utility whether the Airport base station might have a firmware update waiting to be applied.

You take the piss mate, I could accept people wijacking for basic internet use but streaming video!??? That's bang out of order, although I guess one could argue that if they're stupid enough to not realise someone hogging their wifi connection then they deserve it too.
 Yeah sure
