Mystery "blob" Found Near Dawn Of Time In Space

Thu Apr 23, 2009 6:42 am

Every time I read stuff like this it just fascinates me. This "blob" was from 12.9 BILLION years ago and is 55,000 light-years long! Those numbers just boggle my mind!

I think it's a gigantic booger from the Intellligent Designer, probably left in the universe on the 7th day.

Stuff like this.....being 12.9 BILLION years old.....kinda makes you realize that in the scope of things, our lives are like a millisecond.

I sometimes lay in bed at night pondering the universe....one of my friends told me to read one of Stephen Hawking's books, and I was like "I would love to, but talking that intense type of science with me would be like talking to me in a foreign language." If I was able to understand it, I probably would find it fascinating....

"The Universe in a Nutshell" is very "layman"-friendly. I read that book in about 2 days- it's very engrossing and extremely fascinating, and I understood almost everything in it and I'm not even close to a Doctorate.  Smile

Hawking's writings are actually quite accessible. If you can get this aviation geek stuff, you can get his books.
