I'm still using IE7, I installed the new version a couple weeks ago and had some problems loading my company's websites, I cold log on but it would give me an error, then two days ago a coworker could not even open the websites, it said that the page was not found or something like that. I uninstalled it and reinstalled IE7 and its working without issue now.
Did you or your co-worker try compatibility mode - http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...ntroducing-compatibility-view.aspx
? I've had problems with a couple of sites since installing IE8, but they are ones that didn't play well with IE7, either.
My opinion is that it's a worthy upgrade from IE7. As my fellow PDX
'er reported the search functionality is much improved and the accelerators are a cool feature. The tab handling is also very well done. It seems more stable and a bit peppier than IE7. All browsers have their strengths and weaknesses, and I don't think there are any features compelling enough to convince a a Firefox or Chrome user to switch.
