2 Days In Tokyo - What To See/do?.

Fri May 29, 2009 2:13 am

Just booked a last minute trip to Tokyo - booked yesterday, going tomorrow so not had much time to look into the place.

Our hotel is near Shinagawa Station - can we just get a direct train from/to NRT ?.

Any hints/tips on what to see and do whilst there - any "must see's" ?.

Cheers.

If you are into electronics...a trip to Akihabara is a must.

Id say Tokyo has few "must see" places. To me Tokyo is an amazing city that is more of an experience destination than a sight seeing place

but a must do.. Tsijiki Fish Market .. Dont go on Wed...

Akihabara is a must even if you are not into electronics... it's crazy!

The Narita Express train service stops at Shinagawa, so, yes, you have quick (albeit $$$) access to/from Narita. Also, there is a direct train service at Shinagawa to Haneda Airport if you are interested in some spotting there.

There is simply too much to do in and around Tokyo; kinda hard to suggest anything without knowing what you're into.

Cool, cheers for the suggestions.

I think on this trip as it's so short, we're going to take a trip to that big zebra crossing, go up to the viewing gallery in that government office, then just wander round and soak up whatever the city has to offer and stop off at the electronics place along the way.

Sadly I doubt that we will a) have time for Haneda and b) I'll be allowed to go but I will make the most of the time at NRT.

Really looking foward to it.
