Happy (233rd) Birthday To The United States

Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:23 pm

Well,

It's July the 4th in the UK now. Yes I know that i'm about 5hrs early for the "Americans", with this thread but hey. Still, it's amazing to think that it was 233 years ago that the British decided to "get rid" of you**

Anyways, have a great party and don't get (too) drunk Big grin

(I hope to be Stateside again in the fall)  Smile

I know. The City I am living in was founded back in 825. Back then it was still called Hammerburg, then changed to Hamburg and even our harbour is 820 years old.

Let's see what the next 233 years bring for the US. The US is one of my favorite countries to travel to...
I will be back soon  Smile

Err....why are you celebrating 2 days after the event? Haven't you been told that one of the participants at the meeting to formalise the independence of the States wrotte home to his wife on the *2nd* July about what an historic decision has been made.
