Out To Prove Everyone Has Something Wrong -Health

Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:50 pm

Last night my gf was down on herself about her health issues, some problem with her thyroid and something or other and I then said "well everyone has some issue or other" And pointed to my Vitiligo filled hands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitiligo) and listed my Anxiety. I said I bet everyone has something and mentioned my dad's colorblindness and back issues and my mom's lupus. So, can you help me out, what do you have (wikipedia links would be helpful to the non-medical community!). Is there anyone out there that doesn't have anything at all? Prove

I have had some anxiety issues. I have bad eyesight and I was born with a spinal deformity. None of it being very serious, but it isn't right. I think a couple of my friends may by error free, but I don't know.

Of course most of my friends drive a bunch of old cars and collect "junk" so maybe there is something wrong with us....

I have a thyroid thingy as well and am undergoing surgery soon. I was feeling down as well, especially since the possibility of malignancy is always around the corner. But all in all, for having read about it a lot recently, thyroid problems aren't that serious and even cancerous cases are generally fully cured. If they have to take the whole thing out, it turns out it's not a big deal to live without a thyroid gland, you just have to take a daily pill for the rest of your life.

One of my lungs has also collapsed on its own for no good reason a couple of times.

While it's never exactly enjoyable to be diagnosed with things like that, it does make you confront the reality that you are inside a machine that is slowly failing and will sooner or later let you down completely. It puts a little perspective back in your life.

I have ezcema on my face, above my upper lip, which looks horrible when it flares up, as it makes the area all red and itchy. I also have a problem with my eyes stinging and I rub them a lot (will have to go to the docs yet again about them) as I'm prone to ear and eye infections. I have problems with my back too, as I fell over 9 years ago and it's never been right since. If I sit too long or if I lie too long in bed, it will set it off, and I walk slightly bent over for a short while until it unstiffens. Mind you, the excess weight I carry dosen't help either, something of which I'm working on at the moment.

I have a circulatory problem, which is being successfully treated with betablockers. I also have an innerear problem for about 2 weeks, but even that is slowly going away.
