And you actually take Satriani seriously? lol
Actually, I used to be a fan of both. I had pretty much the whole collection of both Coldplay and Joe Satriani on the CD
shelf. When I first listened to "Viva la Vida", I thought, wow that is so cool, they are cooperating with Joe Satriani, or covering him, or something. Then I realized they didn't give him any credit for using his song in one of theirs, and even worse, they denied any relation of the 2 songs. I used to think Coldplay are halfway intelligent people, but this shows they are obviously not. It would have been so easy for them to admit that they covered the song, hell it happens all the time. You just don't PRETEND you came up with it, that's just not how it works.
Well there are 2 mentalities on intellectual property, while you Ebs757 seem to have the Chinese mentality of "stealing intellectual property = making a compliment about how good it is", I prefer the western way where you have to observe copyright laws.
Sorry, but after that event I'm disgusted by the way Coldplay treats a fellow musician. If they can't come up with original content, they should hire somebody to do it for them, but NOT take a good song from somebody else and pretend it is theirs.
